Today, we proudly celebrate the 128th Philippine Independence Day and honor the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of those who fought for our freedom.

As we reflect on our nation's journey, we also celebrate the rich cultural heritage, traditions, and values that continue to unite Filipinos around the world. The Philippine flag is more than a national symbol. Every color, star, and ray tells a story of freedom, courage, unity, and hope.

At the Philippine Living Heritage Initiative, our mission is to preserve, promote, and pass on the stories, traditions, and legacy of the Filipino people to future generations. Today, we invite everyone to take pride in our shared heritage and continue building bridges that connect Filipinos across communities and generations.

The Philippine Living Heritage Initiative extends its warmest congratulations to Iskwelahang Pilipino (IP) on the celebration of its 50th Anniversary!

For five decades, IP has been a beacon of Filipino culture, language, values, and identity, nurturing generations of young Filipino Americans to remain connected to their heritage while thriving as global citizens.

We are especially grateful for our partnership through The Filipino Young Global Leadership Program. Together, we share a mutual mission: empowering young people to lead with purpose, embrace their cultural roots, and make meaningful contributions to their communities and the world. Through this collaboration, we continue to invest in the next generation of leaders who embody the best of Filipino values, excellence, and service.

As IP celebrates this remarkable milestone, we honor the educators, volunteers, families, alumni, and supporters whose dedication has made this enduring legacy possible. Your work has inspired countless young people and strengthened the Filipino community for generations.

Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country and the freedoms we cherish every day. Their courage, sacrifice, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

On this Memorial Day, we also recognize the generations of Filipino American service members and heroes who answered the call to serve with honor. Their legacy of patriotism and sacrifice continues to inspire our community and our nation.

As we gather with family and loved ones, may we pause to reflect with gratitude on those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

The Philippine Living Heritage Initiative commemorates the 40th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution, a defining moment in Philippine history that demonstrated to the world the extraordinary strength of peaceful collective action.

Four decades later, we honor the enduring values of freedom, unity, courage, and faith that brought millions of Filipinos together along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue in 1986. The revolution stands as a powerful reminder that when people stand together with conviction and hope, they can shape the course of history.

As we mark this milestone, we also reflect on our shared responsibility to preserve these democratic ideals for future generations. May the spirit of People Power continue to inspire dialogue, civic engagement, and a deep commitment to nation building, where the voices of the people remain at the heart of progress.
