CID members Kenji Yamamoto and Nancy Kelly’s THE DREAMERS AND I follows 3 immigrant entrepreneurs navigating the cutthroat world of today’s American startup. Over a 10-year period, the Dreamers' journeys unfold inside a Silicon Valley “hacker house” (a cheap live-work space), revealing the promise, pressure, and pitfalls of startups. The film offers a deeply human examination of the American Dream and an unflinching look at the struggle to build the technology of tomorrow.

It premieres on PBS and PBS.org on August 1, 2026.

CID filmmakers Michele Josue and Carlo Velayo will be screening their film Nurse Unseen Documentary) at the Smithsonian tomorrow May 9 at 2pm! The screening will be part of Visions & Voices: Stories on the Screen, a film festival presented by the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center.

Nurse Unseen explores the little-known history and humanity of the unsung Filipino nurses risking their lives on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic, thousands of miles from home. This personal documentary unearths the colonial ties between the Philippines and the United States that have led to Filipino-American nurses becoming the unsung backbone of the United States health industry.
