You prep the binder. You highlight the evals. You take off work, sit at that tiny school table across from six professionals, and fight like hell for your kid.

Then the meeting ends, everyone packs up their folders, and you walk to your car in silence.

The paperwork is exhausting. The fight is exhausting. But the loneliest part is carrying all that weight while everyone forgets you are a human being sitting in that chair, not just a case file.

Trick-or-treating is six separate asks at every single door.

Walk up to a stranger’s house. Ring and wait. Say the words on cue. Take some candy, but not all of it. Say thank you. Leave a door that’s still open.

Then do it again next door.

I love this month so much. I want the apple picking, the foliage hikes, the little café coffee by myself, the cozy family memories. But after weeks of driving, cooking, work, emails, appointments, and keeping everything moving, sometimes the weekend arrives and I have exactly zero percent left.

If you are spending this beautiful Sunday under a blanket instead of at the pumpkin patch, you are not wasting fall. You are recovering from carrying a lot. 💛

Tell me: what is one fall thing you still want to do this month, even if it is just drink a hot coffee while it is actually hot?

New look, same village. 💛

If you’ve followed us for a while, the logo just changed shape.

It’s still a heart. That part was never going away.

The little tail turns it into a speech bubble, because that’s really what this place is. Mom’s talking to moms.

Look close and there are two circles inside. A mom and her kid, sitting side by side. The smaller one has its own space, its own shape. That felt important to get right.

And yes, the pink is back so you can spot us in a busy feed.

Same village. Same “you’re not doing this alone anymore.”

The letter I used to send the new teacher wasn’t short on information. It just wasn’t the right information.

Turns out the specific stuff, what actually triggers a hard moment, what helps after, what she’s proud of, does more than a whole page of general background ever did.

Made a printout for this, an About My Child one-pager, plus a smaller version for staff who aren’t the teacher, the sub, the aide, the bus driver. Link in bio if you want them or comment below, and I’ll send you the link.
