GaSI 2022 has been rescheduled for April 30 to May 28, 2022, to allow secondary students that are currently writing exams to benefit from the program.
GaSI 2022 (Virtual) is organized in collaboration with researchers from Nigeria and United States to empower senior secondary/high school and undergraduate students on the fundamentals of design thinking, game design, and analysis using StudyCrafter, a free engine for creating, playing, sharing, and analyzing gamified projects.
In recognition of Women's History Month, and International Women's Day (IWD) 2022, the theme for GaSI 2022 is .
Every Saturday, for 4 weeks, participants will learn design thinking, game design, and data analysis by working collaboratively in teams to create social impact games on a topic of interest to address the challenges of women's empowerment and equity in Africa.
All participants will receive free mobile data (up to 10gb internet plan) if they successfully complete the program
Program highlights:
- Learn the fundamentals of design thinking, game design, and analysis
- Learn how to create social impact games using Study Crafter
- Join a team and learn collaboration skills
- Pick a topic of interest
- Gamify your idea by creating a social impact game
- Publish your game for playtesting and data collection
- Conduct experiments by analyzing your game data
- work under the guidance of a GGC Mentor through the program
Participation is free but space is limited. Only shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate

Are you a passionate person who has worked on programs empowering women and girls in developing communities? If you are interested in artificial intelligence and female empowerment, we'd love to hear from you!
Our goal is to provide a free platform for individuals and organizations in who want to share their stories and get recognized for their contributions in strengthening girls and women involvement in AI, especially in emerging communities. You can get involved today by telling us about your work, to be publicized on our website for a global audience to acknowledge and learn from your experience. We will also showcase selected submissions at the AI for Girls (AI4G) Workshop, as part of the Diversity and Inclusion Activities of the 36th AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence (AAAI-22).

SIAIA is a half-day virtual event at the thirty-sixth AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence (AAAI-22), to provide an avenue for researchers, students, educators, and individuals or organizations working to advance AI in Africa to engage in discussions regarding the social impact of AI in Africa. The inaugural SIAIA will be held as a part of the AAAI-22 Diversity and Inclusion Activities during the AAAI-22 conference, which will be held as a virtual event from Feb. 22 to Mar 1, 2022: https://aaai.org/.../AAA.../diversity-and-inclusion-program/
