Ever since the Voices of EdQuity Breakfast, people keep finding their way back to the conversation.

A principal reaches out with a question. A parent shares an idea. A community partner asks how they can help. A board member opens a door, makes a connection, or challenges us to think bigger. Someone invites another person into the room.

Then it happens again.

Maybe that’s what happens when people feel like their voice actually matters.

When conversations aren’t reserved for a select few, more people see themselves in the work.

We’re seeing students, families, educators, community partners, school leaders, and board members all showing up with something to contribute, bringing their own experiences, perspectives, and hopes for what our schools can be.

The breakfast may be over, but Boston is still talking. And more importantly, people who shared space with us on May 29th are still showing up.

The first EdQuity Boston funding cycle is now open.

We are inviting Boston Public Schools to apply for the inaugural EdQuity Boston Pilot, a multi-year opportunity designed to support schools in strengthening community voice, shared decision-making, and locally driven solutions. Selected schools may receive up to $50,000 in funding, along with capacity-building support, opportunities for reflection and learning, and participation in a cohort committed to advancing equity, belonging, and opportunity.

This pilot is not about having all the answers. It is about creating the conditions for students, families, educators, and community members to help shape what comes next. We are not looking for perfect proposals. We are looking for schools that are curious, committed, and willing to learn alongside us.

Apply today, bit.ly/edquitypilot

The Voices of EdQuity Community Survey is one of the first ways you can participate in shaping this work. Your feedback will help inform future investments, priorities, and opportunities for Boston Public Schools.

Because community voice isn't an add-on to this process. It's the foundation.

The future of our schools depends on what becomes possible when we listen, learn, and move forward in community.

Take the survey today and help shape what's next.

Since the very first Voices of EdQuity Breakfast, Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (MCCA) has been more than a sponsor...they have been a Champion of EdQuity.

For years, MCCA has stood alongside us in the belief that students, families, educators, and communities deserve a meaningful voice in shaping the future of Boston Public Schools.

The breakfast may be over. But the work is just beginning.

Last Friday, we officially launched EdQuity Boston Pilot Program. A community-driven investment initiative designed to help reimagine how resources flow to Boston Public Schools.

Now comes the most important part: Listening.

Before investments are made.
Before funding is distributed.

We want to hear directly from students, families, educators, and community members.

Because those closest to the work should help shape the future.

On Friday, May 29th, something powerful happened in Boston, and to everyone who shared space with us, thank you.

Thank you for bringing your experiences, your questions, and your commitment to Boston's young people. Thank you for believing that those closest to the work should have a role in shaping how resources are invested in our schools.

We celebrated leaders, amplified student voices, honored Trailblazer Dart Adams, announced the EdQuity Boston Pilot, and took another step toward building a future where opportunity is informed by community, partnership, and shared responsibility.

The conversations don't end here. In many ways, they're just beginning.

We're grateful to everyone who joined us and look forward to continuing this journey.

The power shifts when communities lead.
