Education and Career Development staff recently visited several SLIP interns at their internship sites and were excited to see the valuable experiences and skills they gained throughout the summer.

As the season comes to a close, it's bittersweet to see the program end. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the South Boston businesses and organizations that hosted our SLIP interns this summer and helped make their experience so meaningful and successful.

Education & Career Development headed to Ballers in the Seaport for an exciting introduction to pickleball! After learning the basics from expert instructors, participants jumped into games and even competed in a serve challenge.

🎭 “Until we were really truly part of Rodman for Kids and Theatre for Kids, our participants really didn’t have as many opportunities as they have now and it really does change lives.” 🎭

South Boston Neighborhood House (SBNH)'s participant turned teen employee, Brenny O’Brien's, love for the theatre was profoundly impacted by Rodman for Kids' Theatre for Kids program. With the support of SBNH and Rodman for Kids, she turned that spark into something bigger: a teen-run theatre company called SouthStage Theatre Works.

What began as a club is now a platform empowering teens to perform, create, lead, and dream bigger. This is what it means to uplift a kid’s dream and watch them uplift others.

Our friends at Toast.org put together 150 summer activity bags for children in our Summer Eats program at Mary Ellen McCormack! These special kits give kids something fun to enjoy as summer winds down and help get them excited for the new school year ahead.

Shark Tank was a huge success, and it was wonderful to see so many families come out to support the participants. This morning, Shark Tank participants delivered outstanding presentations on topics they are passionate about.

It was inspiring to see the depth of their research, the creativity of their ideas, and their dedication to finding meaningful solutions to social issues within their communities.
