Property Damage (especially to your property) is a form of non physical abuse. This includes punching wholes in the walls and throwing objects across the room. Your abuser has no regard for your personal property and breaks your things every time he or she gets upset. Property Damage can not only escalate into physical abuse, it could also manifest further as disgusting living conditions where the abuser purposefully leaves the living space filled with trash (or items s/he broke).

"If I hear a neighbor being abused, how do I help?"
This can be a difficult situation because you do not know for sure what is going on. You may even be tempted to run out of your home to help your neighbor. This may not always be the best course of action because you can be harmed in the process. The safest way to handle the situation is to call the police (911 for emergency) and ask for a wellness check if you suspect something could be wrong. A wellness check can be anonymous and can even be requested for a friend or family member if they do not live in your state. Please do not investigate or enter another person's home.
If you come across someone who is injured, if they are already in a safe place (i.e. not lying in a street or other hazardous area) DO NOT MOVE THEM. This is to prevent further injury. The 911 dispatcher will give you instructions on how to care for the person's particular injury.
Please consult the resources in your local area to know exactly where to call. And as always, use your best judgement and common sense.
