The Writers' Room of Boston is seeking a Board Chair to guide us in membership outreach and identify new funding opportunities. The position allows flexibility in defining the best way to achieve those goals. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about the mission of the Writers' Room and has creative vision. This position is perfect for someone with prior experience in publicity and recruiting, or someone just starting their career and looking for resume-building experience at a literary nonprofit.

Key Responsibilities:
- Leading membership and community outreach
- Identifying new funding sources
- Hosting monthly board meetings
- Expected time commitment is 5 to 8 hours a week.

This volunteer position includes the following perks:
- Free full-time membership to the Writers' Room
- Opportunities to network with the local writing community
- Public exposure of your position and efforts
- A chance to make a significant impact on a small but established organization

Calling all screenwriters, storytellers, and cinephiles… You're invited to Table Read, hosted by Laura Bocianski. We’ll be reading the screenplay of Everything Everywhere All At Once, an Oscar-winning film by The Daniels.

Whether you’re honing your screenwriting craft or just interested in how great TV and movies get written, join us for an evening to laugh, learn, and meet other writers. We will assign parts, conduct a “table read”, and discuss the writing.
