CPLAN CPLAN is a parent advocacy organization, founded and led by parents of color.

Our mission

Harnessing the voices of those most impacted to inform, influence and inspire education policies & practices that support today's most vulnerable learners. Cultivating the voices of those most impacted CPLAN strives to define what a quality “whole child” education looks like for students and works with policymakers, educators and community leaders to shape and achieve transformation

al and systemic change. Currently, CPLAN is working on two core objectives: (1) create more culturally responsive school climates in which the needs of students with diverse backgrounds, learning abilities, and experiences are supported to thrive and (2) strengthen the overall quality education and enhance the school culture/climate to ensure the quality and educational experience and outcomes for students of color with social/emotional needs due to experiencing trauma from violence, homelessness, immigration, and poverty.

Ten years ago, parents came together around a simple belief: families deserve to be heard, valued, and included in decisions that shape their children’s education.

Today, that belief continues to grow through active parent leadership and school partnerships.

I am excited to officially announce this year’s winners for CPLAN’s 10th Anniversary Awards Ceremony!

Honorees were nominated directly by community members who have had the honor of witnessing these champions in action and experiencing their impact firsthand. Each nomination told powerful stories of advocacy, leadership, collaboration, compassion, and unwavering dedication to students, families, and communities.

These honorees were described as bridge-builders, advocates, mentors, changemakers, and trusted leaders who continuously work to amplify parent voice, strengthen partnerships between families and schools, and create more equitable and inclusive educational experiences for all children.

From special education advocacy, gifted education, and family empowerment to community partnership and statewide leadership, this year’s recipients truly embody CPLAN’s belief in “Parents as Partners.”

After a thoughtful review process led by a nomination committee using established award criteria focused on impact, collaboration, advocacy, leadership, and community empowerment, these individuals rose as outstanding examples of what it means to serve with purpose and heart.

We are deeply honored to celebrate the incredible leaders, parents, educators, advocates, and partners who continue to strengthen our communities every single day.

Congratulations to all of our 2026 CPLAN Award Honorees!
