Spotlight on 🇺🇸–🇺🇬 Sports Diplomacy - U.S. Department of State in action! The U.S. Embassy joined the The Aliguma Foundation Banda Slums Soccer Tournament to support the power of sport in uniting communities and empowering youth. Led by 🇺🇸 exchange alumna and ESPN Global Sports Mentorship Program participant Ritah Aliguma, this initiative is transforming lives through ⚽️, leadership, and opportunity beyond the field. As we celebrate America's 250th anniversary and the upcoming FIFA World Cup in the United States, we are excited to share our love of sports with Ugandan communities.

The Road to the World Cup rolls on! ⚽️ We revisited South Africa 2010 with a powerhouse panel: Edgar Watson, Benjamin Ochan, and Clive Kyazze, moderated by Ritah Aliguma , along with Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) and the Uganda Cranes. They broke down how soccer strengthens communities, supports mental health, and opens doors for young people in Uganda and beyond - while deepening 🇺🇸🤝🇺🇬 ties on and off the pitch.
