Special Announcement to our Newbury Cup members planning to walk in this wknd!
Due to external factors beyond their control…associated with the impacts of recent record snowfall & sustained frigid temperatures, the Winter Walk event cannot be set up safely on Boston Common this weekend & has been rescheduled to March 22, 2026.
They regret any inconvenience this rescheduled date might cause. While disappointing, this change is also a powerful reminder of the reality our unhoused neighbors face every day.
For many people experiencing homelessness, winter weather isn’t an inconvenience or a reason to postpone plans—it’s a daily and often dangerous challenge…underscoring why this work matters so deeply.

As the cold winds whip through Boston tonight, it’s hard to imagine finding a way to sleep outside. For so many vulnerable neighbors in our city, that’s their reality.

Next week, The Newbury Cup hosts its 5th Annual Tea Ceremony at honoring for their incredible work supporting our unhoused community & providing vital healthcare services to women in need.

This year, we’re shining a light on women experiencing homelessness…resilient, courageous & too often unseen. Their stories remind us why compassion & community matter most.

Drumroll!!!! We’re thrilled to announce that The Winter Walk has been selected as the winner of this year’s Newbury Cup! We had a record level of engagement, and it was an incredibly close race!

This extraordinary organization has made a lasting impact in the fight against homelessness, and this year’s donation will go toward funding healthcare initiatives for women within the homeless population. These funds will help provide essential care such as routine checkups, vaccinations, prescriptions when needed, and access to critical health screenings—ensuring that women in Boston experiencing homelessness receive the care and dignity they deserve.

Together, we’re addressing both immediate health needs and the root causes of homelessness, including addiction recovery, healthcare access, and mental health support.

As we celebrate our 5th Anniversary, we’re planning a very special Newbury Cup Tea Ceremony on November 20th at The Newbury Boston. Formal invitations will be sent soon to current Newbury Cup members - visit link in bio to learn more.
