Uniting across borders is key to succeeding in the struggle against neoliberalism. Frontline communities from el Bajo Aguan, Honduras, and the Solidarity Collective Delegation to Honduras stand in solidarity with the Colombian people.

TAKE ACTION! Urge Your Representative to Sign the Dear Colleague Letter to Secretary Blinken on Colombian Protesters! https://www.lawg.org/7326-2/

The letter calls on the U.S. government to freeze police assistance to Colombia until police brutality stops, victims receive justice, and a thorough police reform is carried out; it also urge the Colombian government to prioritize the rights of Afro-Colombian and indigenous peoples in Colombia and fully implement the ethnic chapter of the peace accords. https://www.lawg.org/7326-2/

Let's Reconnect! As we come upon the 40th anniversary of Witness for Peace, we are looking to reconnect with former workers to get a sense of where the extensive knowledge, experience, and expertise from our organization has ended up over the years. We’re hoping you will take 5-10 minutes to let us know what you’re up to now:

We are excited about our work, and we want to ensure the legacy of our important organization. We hope that by growing and maintaining our network we will be able to do that for 40 more years. Emergency Colombia Response Fund
-- https://tinyurl.com/55zsxzky --
As the National Strike in Colombia continues, state violence continues to intensify laying bare the ravages of US imperial economic and military policy. During the International Verification Mission activists on the ground highlighted the need for ongoing internal accompaniment.

100% of your donation today will go towards accompaniers' expenses (food, lodging, ground transportation, and basic documentation equipment) so our teams can respond to emergency requests.

We have had a team on the ground in Colombia for over 20 years, and we are uniquely poised to respond to these urgent appeals for solidarity-- but the challenges of the last year have left our budget with very limited emergency funding.

Don't miss it - Tonight at 7pm ET, Todd Miller will be with us discussing his critically acclaimed book, Empire of Borders.

For the last two weeks, the Solidarity Collective has been hosting a reading group on journalist, and former Witness for Peace Mexico team member, Todd Miller’s book Empire of Borders. Empire of Borders takes the reader from the U.S. Mexico Border to Palestine to the Caribbean to show how the definition of the U.S. border has expanded far beyond the traditional idea of what a border is. The book connects current immigration policy with the militarization of policing practices and U.S. foreign policy, making it a must-read for those of us fighting to change that policy!
