Bi Women Quarterly

Bi Women Quarterly Bi Women Quarterly (circa 1983) is a grassroots 501(c)(3) nonprofit publication available for free. Welcome to the official page of Bi Women Quarterly!

We have been in continuous publication since 1983, and are the oldest bis*xual+ women’s publication in the world, with an international readership. We feature the voices of women with bi+ s*xualities (i.e., bi, pan, fluid, and other non-binary s*xualities). We see “woman” as a broad category with space for an array

of gender identities and expressions. We welcome contributions from bi+ women who identify as trans, non-binary, cis, and beyond. Read, subscribe (for free) , and learn more at www.biwomenquarterly.com

We are entirely volunteer-run! Here's how you can support our work:
1) Share Bi Women Quarterly with friends, family, and your social media network.

2) Donate or become a fundraiser for Pride Month through our Give OUT page:

For 2026’s GiveOutDay campaign, Bi Women Quarterly is hoping to fundraise $8000 to sustain the work of the best, the oldest – and currently the only – bis*xual+ women’s publication in the world.

Bi Women Quarterly (BWQ) is a completely free resource, available online and in print to readers globally. We’ve been in continuous publication since 1983! What started as a local quarterly newsletter more than four decades ago has expanded to a global publication. The Spring 2026 issue of BWQ features folks from 10 different countries! BWQ’s editor is speaker, writer, and advocate Robyn Ochs.

We feature the writing and art of women who fall under the bis*xual+ umbrella (folks who identify as bis*xual, biromantic, pans*xual, panromantic, fluid, q***r, sapios*xual, omnis*xual, polys*xual, multis*xual, biplus, etc.). We welcome contributions from all people who resonate with experiences of womanhood, whether those people are cis, trans, nonbinary, or another gender expansive identity.

Bi Women Quarterly is a completely free resource, available to readers globally. We send BWQ out to thousands of readers, and many more read BWQ on our website. Keeping this publication free — and thus accessible — is no small feat, considering that publishing has become increasingly expensive over the years and most publications sustain their work through paid subscriptions. We send our magazine out to individuals, college campuses, women’s centers, health care providers, and LGBTQ+ community centers.

We, however, are committed to keeping this resource freely available and accessible to people who need connection and community, particularly as the cultural and political climate in so many places becomes more hostile to the LGBTQ+ community.

New issue of Bi Women Quarterly is out NOW!

This issue’s theme is “Dear ___.” Readers were asked to write a letter to someone who has impacted their bi+ identity in some way and let them know how they feel. Maybe it’s a parent who didn’t react well to their coming out, a public figure who changed their life by example, or a lawmaker who’s trying to take away their rights, a first same-gender crush, or a love letter to their partner of 20 years.”

We are grateful to everyone who submitted their letters, poetry, essays, and visual art.
