Virginia Opossum CallaLilly is up 9 grams!! Wow! So happy this orphan is thriving and will live a happy life in the wild..
Virginia Opossums have an extraordinarily short life naturally and in the wild, even shorter… They are demonized and misunderstood.
We will be posting more facts about them, but please be kind and do not judge a book by its cover or an animal by its grin!
How can you not love this beautiful animal… Look at those opposable back toe toes!

Please don’t demonize us.
We are shy beautiful and very smart sensitive beings.
We are Virginia Opossum, the only marsupial in the US.
Though our large angular jaws have many teeth, as babies, we have requirements that would confuse most chemistry professors.
We are fragile and helpless if we are found in the pouch of or nearby a deceased mother, or orphaned and separated.
I was found alone, for days with no mom, and no wildlife centers open.

I was in an animal control van when waved her down, stopped to ask if the officer needed help.
I am weak and fighting.
Please send me hope.
