Happy Fathers Day to all the fathers out there- bio-dads, bonus dads, step-dads, single moms, (human) foster dads, cat dads, etc. But especially to our BCC foster dads, who, often in addition to taking care of their own (human and animal) children, find the time to take care of our cats as well! Taylor and Travis are two of our current kittens who love their foster cat dad (cat foster dad?)! Our fosters are the reason our cats are so great! They put so much time and effort into making them excellent additions to the family!

Interested in Taylor and Travis? Put in an application on our website today!

Please do not feed Romeo. We are trying again to trap him because he needs medical help, but if people keep feeding him, that is impossible. We are setting traps at 2 locations where he usually spends a good deal of time and eats regularly. Yes, he is thin. We think he is ill. He needs desperately to be seen by a vet, but he is so shy of traps that we need the cooperation of everyone who has been reporting him and feeding him. Thank you!

Karma showed up outside and hungry one day so a resident started feeding her and found out she was friendly. The resident was searching for a rescue or a TNR program to help but before that happened Karma gave birth to 5 kittens. Karma was an excellent mother and the resident kept a close eye on them. But after a few days she could tell that Karma was ill and she stopped taking care of the kittens. The resident immediately started looking for help and Bordentown City Cats was able to get her into the vet.

At the visit it was discovered that she had mastitis which would be very painful and would prevent her from nursing. The kittens, only a few days old, were placed at another rescue with an experienced bottle feeder.

We had hoped Karma would come around but her infection was to severe. She ended up going back to the vets a few days later where they determined she would need live saving surgery on the following day. Olease help BCC cover the cost of Karma's surgery. Donate using the link below or in our stories.

A stray cat near Newkirk Ave. and Liberty St. was brought to the Animal Shelter, where it developed rabies-like symptoms overnight. Subsequent testing confirmed the cat was positive for rabies.

We urge all residents to avoid approaching wildlife, including stray cats, and to report any animals exhibiting unusual behavior to Animal Control. It's also important to ensure that your pets are current on their rabies vaccinations. If you or your pets have had any recent contact with stray cats in this vicinity, please inform Animal Control.

Rabies is a serious viral disease that is preventable but can be fatal. It poses a risk to both humans and pets if bitten or scratched by an infected animal. If you suspect you, a family member, or a pet may have encountered this cat or any other wildlife acting strangely, please seek immediate advice from your healthcare provider or veterinarian.

Why would you abandon this sweet cat? This orange fella was reported to us by someone who found him. He is microchipped and registered to someone in Bordentown, but Home Again says that there has been no response to their queries. He was adopted from a shelter in Skillman, and that is where he has been returned. If this is your cat, and you did not respond, shame on you.
