Today we honor and remember Officer Michael Langsdorf. On June 23, 2019, Officer Michael Langsdorf was shot and killed after responding to a call involving a suspect who was trying to cash a fraudulent check.

Officer Langsdorf served with the North County Police Cooperative for three months and was a 17-year veteran of law enforcement. He left behind his 13-year old daughter and 18-year old son.

We will never forget the life and legacy of Officer Michael Langsdorf.

We would like to take a moment to recognize Officer Aaron Bowles, who was recently honored by MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) for his outstanding efforts in combating impaired driving.

In 2025, Officer Bowles made 33 DWI arrests, helping keep our roads safer and protecting our community from the dangers of impaired drivers.

Please join us in congratulating Officer Bowles on this well-deserved recognition and thanking him for his dedication to public safety.

Cardiac events remain one of the leading causes of death among first responders, making early detection critical. According to national fire service tracking data, cardiovascular events are the leading cause of on-duty firefighter deaths, accounting for nearly 50% of all fatalities.

For the first time in the history of our organization, we are embarking on a mission to save the lives of public safety officers by being proactive in preventing tragedy. One of the leading causes of first responder deaths is cardiac events. We want to provide our public safety officers with the opportunity to take a preventative heart scan that could save their life.

Officer Warren Receives Chief’s Commendation

The Bonne Terre Police Department proudly recognized Officer Adrienne Warren as the recipient of a Chief’s Commendation for her outstanding efforts during a complex missing juvenile investigation.

Officer Warren demonstrated exceptional dedication, persistence, and professionalism while working to locate a juvenile who had left the area and was believed to be outside the State of Missouri. Through diligent investigative work, coordination with partner agencies, and attention to detail, Officer Warren played a key role in bringing the case to a successful resolution and ensuring the juvenile’s safe return.

Cases involving missing juveniles often require extensive follow-up, coordination, and investigative effort. Officer Warren’s commitment to the investigation exemplified the highest standards of law enforcement service and reflected positively on both the Bonne Terre Police Department and the community we serve.

Chief Crump and the members of the Bonne Terre Police Department commend Officer Warren for her initiative, determination, and unwavering commitment to protecting the welfare of others. Her actions were instrumental in the successful outcome of this investigation and are worthy of this recognition.

The BackStoppers® provides ongoing needed financial assistance and support to the spouses and dependent children of all police officers, firefighters and volunteer firefighters, and publicly-funded paramedics and EMTs in our coverage area who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
