Yesterday's Noticing Nature: Plant Prints program was a beautiful reminder of what can happen when we slow down, step outside, and create together. 🌿🩵

Participants living with dementia and their care partners enjoyed a gentle stroll through nature, gathering leaves, flowers, and inspiration along the way before transforming their discoveries into colorful monoprint artwork.

A special thank you to Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park for hosting us in such a beautiful setting and to artist Stephanie Berrie for guiding participants through a creative experience filled with curiosity, expression, and connection.

We're grateful for moments like these that remind us creativity, community, and joy can be found all around us.

After reviewing an incredible 146 grant applications, Impact 100 Cincinnati has selected seven outstanding nonprofits as finalists for our 2026 grants.

This September, we’ll award a total of $430,000, including four $100,000 grants and three $10,000 awards.

We are honored to share that Giving Voice Foundation has been named a 2026 Impact 100 Grant Finalist!

Selected as one of only 7 finalists from 146 applicants, Giving Voice Foundation is being recognized for our project: Scaling Connections: A Vital Lifeline for Tri-State Families Facing Dementia

This proposal would expand our Creative Connections program from six to nine locations across the Tri-State, bringing consistent, weekly support to more individuals living with dementia and the caregivers who walk beside them. Today, most Creative Connections locations are at or near capacity, with growing waitlists and referrals from major health systems throughout the region. The need is clear.

More than 151,000 people across our region are either living with dementia or caring for someone who is.

Creative Connections is more than a weekly program. It is a lifeline for families navigating dementia. We believe no family should have to navigate that journey alone.

Thank you to the women of Impact 100 for investing their time, expertise, and generosity into strengthening our community. We are deeply honored to stand alongside six outstanding finalist organizations.

What happens when we slow down and let nature be our guide? 🌿💙

Noticing Nature: Plant Prints, is a free program for individuals living with dementia and their care partners presented in partnership with Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park

We will take a gentle stroll through the beautiful grounds of Pyramid Hill, use our senses, noticing the colors, textures, and details all around us. We will gather leaves, flowers, and other natural treasures to use and create colorful monoprints with local artist Stephanie Rae Berrie.

This program offers opportunities for creativity, relaxation, connection, and shared experiences in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Creative Connections is at the heart of what we do. 💙

Each week, individuals living with dementia gather in community to sing, move, create, laugh, and connect.
In a typical session, 15 to 20 people in different stages and types of dementia come together, not to focus on what has been lost, but to engage with one another through music and movement.

Because connection doesn’t require perfect memory.
A familiar song can spark a smile. A shared rhythm can create a moment of belonging. A room full of people can become a community.

We believe everyone deserves a place where they feel welcomed, supported, and valued. Creative Connections helps make that possible every week.

This is what a dementia community where no one feels alone looks like. 💙

What does community look like?

It looks like stories shared around a table.

It looks like laughter between people who understand.

It looks like a warm hug, a meaningful conversation, and the feeling that you don’t have to navigate this journey alone.

This weekend, we gathered for our second annual We Are With You Gathering, bringing together individuals and families impacted by dementia for an afternoon of connection, creativity, reflection, and support.
Together, we shared stories at the Story Sharing Station, explored creativity through leaf etching art, enjoyed delicious food and mocktails, celebrated community through Community Connection Bingo, and reflected on the many moments that make Giving Voice Foundation so special.

These words remind us why we do this work.
