The Blanchardville's Red Cross Blood Drive is tomorrow! Mon. June 15, 2026 Noon - 5 p.m. at the Fire/EMS Community Building.

This blood drive has the best sandwiches and snacks to enjoy after donation!

Bonus: Donors will receive a $15 e-gift card to the merchant of their choice and be entered automatically for a chance to win a $7,500 e-gift card! We hope to see you there!

It's coming right up. Thank you to ALL the volunteers who help us make this event such a success. The behind the scenes folks doing the prep work and cooking, set-up, to the hot grills, the runners, the line workers to the clean up crew... it takes a VILLAGE. We cannot wait to celebrate this traditional (and some new traditions) with all of you!

The evening started off with a little royalty! Avery Webster was the 2025-2026 Blanchardville Dairy Queen and she passed her crown to Ava Havens who is the current 2026-2027 Blanchardville Dairy Queen! The Green County Dairy Queen Program is a tradition that has continued for many years! 1967 was the year of our first Blanchardville Dairy Queen! We are proud to have Ava as our new Queen!

After the crowning, music was enjoyed by all! Special thanks to King Sies Fries (and Mark Gruenenfelder for all the coordination) and to Blanchard Hall for the beautiful venue to keep us cool and dry! Blanchardville Community Pride is happy to host these "Music in the Park" events and looks forward to the next one, at McKellar Upper Park on June 25th with Holy Coyote!

With the crowning tonight of the newest Blanchardville Dairy Queen...we thought maybe we'd share a little more about this "Dairy Queen Program".

What is the Green County Ag Chest - Dairy Queen Program?

The Dairy Queen Program is an iconic, half-century-old tradition. It is a professional development and ambassadorship program designed for young women, that provides unique opportunities for personal growth, skill-building, and community leadership all while supporting our local dairy industry and agriculture community.

The Dairy Queen will spend the year:
- Representing our community at local festivals, parades, and county fairs.
- Educating the public and youth about the importance of farming and agriculture in Green County.
- Promoting local dairy (and all the amazing cheese Wisconsin is famous for!)

As JoAnn Olson Schober shared on the fabulous Blanchardville Historical Society page, the FIRST Blanchardville Dairy Queen dates back to the year 1967 ~ Sandy Lageson was the Queen that year!

Tonight is the night! Due to the forecast of inclement weather, this event tonight will be held at the beautiful Blanchard Hall. Parking is available on Main Street too!

The next Blanchardville Dairy Queen will be crowned at 6 pm, with Music by King Sies Fries to follow at 6:30 pm! Blanchardville Woman's Club is serving food and beverage! See you there!

This project is not a BCPI project. The following is a Submission request by a few local volunteers:

"The garden bed in the upper Mckellar Park (folks who've been around for a long long time may recall the Garden Club) has recently been w**ded, plants thinned out, and mulched in hopes to make this spot beautiful again! There are perennial plants available and can be picked up outside the Viking Scoop by the picnic table. Bring a bag and take as many of these beauties as you'd like! If you feel so inclined to make a free will donation, you can do so by leaving it with the cashier in the grocery store. Any monies will just go toward future upkeep of this area. If you enjoy w**ding and would love to keep McKellar Park beautiful, feel free to w**d at your convenience!"
