Our PTO is proud to support our students during testing by providing snacks to help them start their day strong! 🧠🍎

A healthy snack before school tests can make a big difference—helping improve memory, boost concentration, and provide the sustained energy students need to do their best. It also helps keep moods steady so they can stay focused and confident throughout testing.

During testing, small items like hard candy and gum can also be helpful. Chewing gum and sucking on hard candy have been shown to support focus, reduce stress, and keep minds alert—giving students an extra boost when they need it most.

Here’s how we’re supporting our students:
• Forward Exam: 780 snacks (3rd-8th and 10th grade)
• ACT: 64 snacks (11th grade)
• PreACT: 128 snacks (9th and 10th grade)

Snacks consisted of bananas, oranges, string cheese, and various quick snack bags.

Any remaining snacks were shared with our After School Care Program to continue supporting students beyond the school day.

**This event has been rescheduled to May 13th, 4-5pm in the Elementary Library**

The PTO is hosting the Title 1 Team this Wednesday, April 15th, 6pm in the High School Library.

Join Heidi McSherry (Title Reading Teacher), Lisa Skeway (Instructional Coach), and Chris Rogers (Elementary Principal) as they share an overview of this year's Schoolwide Title Plan.

This will be an opportunity for parents to learn about Title I, Tiered systems of instruction for our students, and how assessments and protocols are used to drive instruction and interventions. After the presentation there will be an opportunity for questions and concerns to be shared with school staff.

We love welcoming our new teachers with special welcome baskets to help support them as they start the school year! 🍎✨
Each basket is filled with a Pecatonica t-shirt, pens, sticky notes, and other fun and useful supplies to help them feel prepared and appreciated.
It’s a small way to show our support and let them know how excited we are to have them in our school community. We hope they’re having a great school year.

Meeting TONIGHT! Bring your neighbor and share your thoughts.

REMINDER:
Parents and families of Pecatonica students and community members, you're invited!

We're hosting a focus group so you can provide input and feedback about school district communication needs and goals.

The session is Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 6:30 p.m. at Blanchard Hall in Blanchardville. It will gather feedback on current communications efforts of the Pecatonica School District and brainstorm ideas and strategies for increased engagement.

This is designed specifically for parents and community members. Several additional focus groups will be held in January and February to capture the feedback of students, teachers and staff, administration and the school board.

We look forward to a great discussion - see you there!

Special thank you to the Saether Family for donating the usage of Blanchard Hall.

The PTO is excited to share that funds from our Holiday Bazaar 50/50 raffle were designated to support the elementary art department. These funds were used to purchase display frames so our young artists’ work can be showcased throughout both communities.
We’d like to send a huge thank you to everyone who purchased a raffle ticket—your support helped make this possible!
We’re excited to invite you to check out the inaugural display featuring the first round of student artists. Come celebrate their creativity and talent—we couldn’t be prouder!

Our youngest artists have some pretty exciting news to share, all thanks to the support of our small and mighty community!

Pecatonica Elementary students have 35 pieces of their artwork out in our communities of Blanchardville and Hollandale as part of our new Rotating Community Art Program. 29 pieces of art are on display at the Blanchardville Public Library. This installation will be up until early May. There are also new rotating art frames located at Hollandale Grocery, Farmers Savings Bank, the Hollandale Village Hall, and the River Bend Cafe in Blanchardville.

We will be hosting an Art Gallery Opening on Thursday, February 12, from 4:00-6:00 pm at the Blanchardville Public Library. All are welcome to this community event!

A special thank you to our community partners for making this event possible;

Sarah Kyrie at the Blanchardville Public Library for reaching out and offering up the beautiful library space for our art installation, the Pecatonica Area Schools PTO who raised the money for the purchase of our frames with their 50/50 Raffle at the Holiday Bazaar, the local businesses who have our artwork on display, Beth Kundert and Sarah for helping install the Library show, the Pecatonica School District and our supportive community.

We hope our artwork brings a smile to your face and a little sunshine to your heart!
