Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to be the one who didn't lose a child.

To just keep living life as I once imagined it. To still have both my children here. To be able to post pictures of them, share their accomplishments, talk about their everyday moments, and make new memories without having to hold so tightly to the ones I have left.

I wonder what it feels like to be able to celebrate every holiday without an empty space. To watch your children grow up together. To take pictures without knowing that some of your most precious memories are now behind you.

I don't think people who haven't experienced child loss can ever truly understand how much of your world changes in an instant.

I don't begrudge anyone their happiness. I just wish I still had mine in the way I once knew it.

I wish I were living the life where Roman was still here. Where I could say his name and he could answer. Where I could make plans with him instead of making plans to honor his memory.

But this is the hand we were dealt. And while I would trade every bit of the strength I've had to find to have my son back, I am going to keep trying to make something meaningful out of a life I never wanted.

Through the Roman Fronk Memorial Scholarship Fund. Through Live Like Roman. Through random acts of kindness, Christmas cheer, and every opportunity to let his light reach someone else.

Maybe someone will hear Roman's story and choose kindness. Maybe someone struggling will find hope. Maybe another grieving parent will realize they aren't alone.

I can't change the ending of Roman's story, but I can keep sharing the beautiful parts of who he was.

And if this heartbreaking hand we've been dealt can give even one person hope, inspire even one act of kindness, or remind someone to love their children a little louder and never take another day for granted, then I pray Roman's light will continue to make a difference.

I don't want to just survive losing my son. I want to make sure the world never forgets the beautiful boy we lost.

Missing you so much, Roman ❤️

I will never understand or forgive this world for taking you away from us so soon. You had your whole life ahead of you, with so many dreams left to accomplish and milestones to reach. I was supposed to stand by and watch you grow into your marriage, watch you become a father, and celebrate all the beautiful chapters you were meant to write. It feels completely backwards—you were never supposed to leave this world before me. Ever since you left, the world has felt profoundly dimmer, and the weight of your absence is constant. I hold onto the belief that you are watching over us and that our paths will cross again one day, but right now, it is just so incredibly hard. Navigating each day with nothing but pictures and memories to carry me through is a heartbreaking reality I never thought I'd have to face.

Imagine losing your child.

Imagine having to wake up every morning in a world where the person who gave your life so much meaning is no longer physically here. Imagine carrying a heartbreak that never truly goes away, learning to live with an emptiness that nothing and no one can ever fill.

Now imagine that the world keeps moving while yours has been changed forever.

Would you want people to say your child’s name? To remember their smile, their personality, their laughter, and the beautiful things that made them who they were?

We would. We do. Because Roman is our son, and his story deserves to keep living. ❤️

We cannot bring Roman back. We cannot make the holidays the same. We cannot hug him, hear his voice, or make new memories with him here on earth. But we can continue the beautiful things he stood for. We can spread kindness in his name. We can help others in his honor. We can make people feel important, remind others that they belong, and bring a little more light into a world that sometimes feels so dark.
