Join us for the artist reception for this exciting and dynamic group exhibition featuring five cross-disciplinary Latinx artists of the Southeastern borderlands. This show will include, a collaborative photography series by Jenea Sanchez, Gabriela Muñoz, and Ammi Robles (Fronterizx Collective) that situates the femme body within the borderland’s ecosystem in an exploration of Latinx Futurism; a sound installation by Jessica Fertonani Cooke that draws upon local desert ecologies to investigate the concept of deep time; the paintings of Yadira Camacho Villa whose acrylic work on unconventional canvasses compels us to bear witness to marginalized groups whose stories often go untold; and the photos of Ammi Robles who offers a nuanced exploration of daily life in Agua Prieta, Robles' hometown. Collectively, their projects and collaborations center women, social justice, and racial equity by foregrounding the agency of border landscapes and their occupants.
