Minnesota Pinto is honored to extend a special acknowledgement to one of our judges from this past weekend, Sid Larson.
Sid’s history with our association spans an incredible 60 years, stretching back to the very beginning. Growing up in Southeast Minnesota, Sid was just ten years old when his parents, Ralph and Ila Mae, were instrumental in founding our association.
At the time, the Pinto Horse Association of America was only a decade old. Driven by Ralph’s passion for Spotted Moroccans—treasured for their elegant Arabian, Hackney, and Moroccan Barb ancestry—founding a Minnesota charter was the perfect way to showcase these striking saddle-type horses. We are deeply privileged to have Sid back in the ring with us where it all began.
Mr. Larson was recognized prior to the start of our Horsemanship classes on Monday.
Pictured is his mother, Ila Mae, with the display that stood in front of the show office all weekend. 💙
Thank you to Sid, the Larson family, and all of those who paved the way for Minnesota Pinto to become what it is today!
