“Jesus is the light!” I’m blessed to share about the incredible work happening at Garrett’s Place, a 100% nonprofit dedicated to supporting children in foster care. We often receive urgent calls for help, and stepping out in faith, we say yes, trusting that God will provide. Recently, we had the opportunity to serve 40 foster children by providing them PJ’s to have at summer camp, where they could shed their worries and experience a sense of normalcy. Each child going would get new pajamas, and without hesitation, we committed to providing them. And then, God’s provision unfolded in a beautiful way – through the generosity of children attending VBS at Union Hill Baptist Church. Their theme just happened to be “Jesus is the light” – what a powerful reminder that even the smallest acts of faith can have a profound impact. The tithes and prayers of those precious children were instrumental in making this experience possible for these kids. It’s a testament to the power of community and the boundless potential of children’s hearts. I’m reminded of the children’s offerings, their small hands and big hearts giving selflessly. Our Jesus is truly magnificent! What makes this story even more poignant is that Union Hill Baptist Church is where we found solace when our sweet Garrett passed. Now, they’re walking alongside us, carrying out his legacy. Thank you, Union Hill Rock Creek Alabama, and to those precious children who gave so sacrificially – your kindness will literally bring peace to many children’s lives. Jesus is The Light!!
