BIG NEWS FOR DAISY TAILS RESCUE! ❤️
We’ve been keeping something exciting to ourselves, and we think it’s finally time to share it with all of you!
We are officially beginning the journey toward building a new Daisy Tails Rescue Adoption Center!
And the best part? We already have the land!
When Daisy Tails started, I never imagined just how many animals would come through our doors or how quickly we would outgrow the space we have. What started as simply wanting to make a difference in the lives of animals has turned into something much bigger than I ever dreamed.
Just this year alone, we’ve helped over 150 cats and well over 100 dogs! That’s more than 250 animals whose lives have crossed paths with Daisy Tails in less than a year. And while we’re incredibly proud of those numbers, they also show just how great the need is right here in our community.
With that growth has come the realization that there is so much more we could be doing if we just had the space and resources to do it.
Our vision is a facility designed to better serve the animals in our care and our community.
Our plans include:
🐾 Indoor/outdoor dog kennels
🐾 A dedicated cat room and neonatal kitten care area for bottle babies, nursing mothers, and our most vulnerable kittens
🐾 Separate quarantine areas for sick animals and new arrivals
🐾 Grooming and bathing facilities
🐾 Indoor meet-and-greet areas for potential adopters
🐾 Outdoor play yards for exercise, enrichment, and socialization
🐾 Additional storage and space to make daily rescue operations more efficient
But I really want everyone to understand something. This isn’t just about Daisy Tails getting a bigger building.
This is about what a facility like this could mean for our entire community.
Our local animal shelter is often overwhelmed with animals needing somewhere to go. Their staff work with the space and resources they have, but there are only so many kennels, so many hours in a day, and only so much they can do.
We see it firsthand.
We see the puppies who need extra socialization, the terrified dogs who shut down in a shelter environment, the sick and injured animals who need additional care, and the tiny kittens who require around-the-clock attention just to survive.
These are often the animals who need the most help, and unfortunately, they’re also some of the hardest to accommodate in an already overcrowded shelter.
We want to change that.
By expanding Daisy Tails, we hope to become an even stronger partner to our local shelter. Having the ability to take in more of these vulnerable animals means opening up much needed space at the shelter for the next animal that comes through their doors.
Think about the difference that could make.
A dog leaving the shelter and coming into our care doesn’t just change that one dog’s life. It opens a kennel for another dog who may have nowhere else to go.
A litter of orphaned kittens coming into our neonatal care area means those babies have a chance at survival while shelter staff can focus their attention and resources on the other animals depending on them.
And when we can help animals recover, build confidence, and become adoption ready, we’re helping create better outcomes for everyone involved.
This is how we make a real difference in our community. Not by working separately, but by working together.
We want our local shelter to know they have somewhere to turn when an animal needs more than they can reasonably provide. We want our community to have another resource when animals are in need. And we want to give the animals who are so often overlooked the time, space, and care they deserve.
Of course, I also want to be realistic. This is a HUGE undertaking. We are still in the early planning stages, and there is a lot of fundraising, grant writing, and hard work ahead of us.
Daisy Tails is a completely volunteer-run nonprofit. Nobody here collects a paycheck. We do this because we genuinely love these animals and believe they deserve a chance.
We have the land. We have the vision. And we have the determination to see this through.
What we don’t have yet is all the funding to make it happen.
Over the coming months, we’ll be sharing more about our plans, our goals, and how our community can help us turn this dream into a reality.
I know a project of this size won’t happen overnight. But I also know what this community is capable of. I’ve watched people come together time and time again for animals they’ve never even met, simply because they needed help.
And that’s what gives me hope that we can do this.
I don’t want Daisy Tails to just be a place where animals wait for homes. I want it to be a place that makes a lasting difference in animal welfare throughout our community.
A place that helps ease the burden on our local shelter. A place that gives the most vulnerable animals a fighting chance. A place that brings people together for something bigger than any one of us.
We’ve already come so far, and I truly believe we’re just getting started.

Now we’re ready to work toward something that could change the future for animals in our community for years to come.
