⚠️ SLOW DOWN
⚠️ MOVE OVER
⚠️ BE ALERT

It’s the LAW, give them space to keep them safe!

The AFFI has a proud history of advocating for safety advancements for our members. In 2001, the AFFI and Chicago Fire Department Firefighters Union - Local 2 successfully gained passage of "Scott's Law" in honor of Lt. Scott Gillen who was killed when a vehicle failed to move over while driving through an accident scene.
Remember to look for lights, slow down, and move over. Month

This week, BFPD members are completing their annual FSVO (Fire Service Vehicle Operations) cone course at Redmond Field.

This hands-on training helps our members sharpen the driving skills needed to safely operate our fire apparatus and ambulances in a variety of situations. Precision, awareness, and repetition are critical when maneuvering emergency vehicles, and regular training ensures we’re prepared when every second counts.

🇺🇸 Happy Flag Day! 🇺🇸

Today we proudly honor the Stars and Stripes, a symbol of the freedom, courage, and unity that define our nation. The American flag represents the sacrifices made by countless men and women who have served, and continue to serve, our great country.

As firefighters, we are honored to serve under the Flag and uphold the values it represents every day.

Please join us in celebrating Flag Day and taking a moment to reflect on what it means to each of us.
