🚨 FIREWORKS ENFORCEMENT OPERATION 🚨
June 22 – July 4, 2026

🔥 Stage 1 Fire Ban in Effect - Right now, all fireworks are illegal to use in unincorporated Arapahoe County.

To help keep our communities safe during the Independence Day holiday, the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office will conduct enhanced fireworks enforcement operations.

✔ Extra deputies will be deployed before and during the holiday.
✔ Illegal fireworks violations will be enforced when probable cause exists.
✔ Illegal fireworks will be seized and confiscated as required by Colorado law.
✔ Citations may be issued for fireworks violations.

Illegal fireworks have consistently resulted in numerous calls for service and can pose serious safety risks.

Help protect your neighbors, first responders, and our community by following all fireworks laws and restrictions.

🚒 Happy Father’s Day! 👨‍🚒❤️

Today, we celebrate not only the fathers of Bennett-Watkins Fire Rescue, but also the dads, stepdads, grandfathers, and father figures who helped shape the firefighters we are today.

Thank you for the lessons, support, sacrifices, and love you’ve given along the way. We are grateful for all the dads in our community and the example you set every day.

🚒 Under the Turnouts: Michael Magruder

This week’s Under the Turnouts features Michael Magruder, President of Local 5090 and Firefighter Engineer at Station 92 on B Shift. 🚒

📚 Michael has a strong passion for growth and is always looking for ways to gain more knowledge. He’s also the guy willing to pick up a 🎨 paintbrush and tackle some of the tedious projects around the station with a 😄 smile on his face.

🔥 Michael attended fire academy in 2015, but felt called to serve in a different way and made the decision to join the 🇺🇸 United States Air Force. He spent the next nine years on active duty, proudly serving from 2015 to 2024.

🧑‍🚒 As he prepared to transition out of the military, he joined Galeton Fire Protection District, where he volunteered, regained his certifications, and reconnected with his passion for the fire service.

🚑 In 2024, Michael joined Bennett-Watkins Fire Rescue full-time, where he has proudly served ever since. While continuing his fire service career, he remains committed to serving our nation as a traditional member of the ✈️ Colorado Air National Guard.

💬 “Looking back, both the military and the fire service have shaped who I am today, and I am grateful for the opportunity to continue serving my community and country.”

🚒⬆️ Nothing like a little aerial training to keep skills sharp! This training helps our members working toward clearance on the apparatus while also building familiarity with the different buildings, access points, and challenges throughout our district.

Training isn’t just about mastering the truck. It’s about knowing the community we serve. 🏘️🚒
