John 6:40 ESV
[40] For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”

God calls for his people to live a life differently than the other religions, differently than those who are of the world. Jesus did just that. He lived his life for God and was different from those who lived for this world.

If you have a problem with religious people, you have something in common with Jesus. Jesus didn't like them twisting and changing the ways of God for their benefit or to hinder others. Jesus taught that it is our hearts, our intentions that make us good. The difference for many is that Jesus preached that we are to do the will of the Father, God in heaven. Only God sets the standard for what is good and right.

Father, you know what is good, what is right. You pass that knowledge to us and ask us to follow you, and bring our friends into eternal paradise. Thank you Father for loving us that much. I pray we follow Jesus. I pray we have the heart and fortitude for you Father that Jesus had. May we stand, righteously, for you in love and mercy. May the world see how good you are and give up control for real freedom. May we give you all praise, honor and glory. Amen.

[24] And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, [25] correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth,

In his second letter to Timothy verse 23, the Apostle Paul warns against participating in ignorant controversies or disputes, other translations are stupid and foolish arguments, or thoughtless discussions. Why? Because they open the door for gossip, and for the evil one to start tugging on you to turn your talk, your heart away from God. Which might also lead to those participating in the conversation to go away from God.

You might win an argument and have your pride swell, but you aren't helping the kingdom of God when you participate in these conversations. God doesn't need your puffed up ego. God doesn't need you calling people names and causing more division.

In his next sentence Paul tells us to not be argumentative, quarrelsome, but to be teachers of God's word. We are to be long-suffering, patiently enduring evil, righteously correcting opponents with love, kindness and gentleness.

Father, you are the light that produces a good harvest. We are called to seed, water and help bring the harvest into your storehouse. Thank you for trusting us to do this for you. I pray we are good for the harvest. May our words and deeds be good in your eyes. May we bring others along in faith. May we all honor you, glorify you and leave our foolishness behind. Amen.

[20] The Lord dealt with me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands he rewarded me.

When David talks about his enemies I know he is talking about people, especially Saul, trying to kill him. When most of the people who read this think of an enemy, again most, not all, are are farther removed from physical danger.

Reading Psalm 18, one lesson that will always be true: God loves the righteous.

A righteous person is not a perfect person. No one is sinless, not even one, Romans 3:10. A righteous person is one who strives to be who God calls us to be.

In today's world it is important that we know who our true enemy or enemies are. Satan, the evil one, his henchmen, the spiritual forces against God, they are your enemies. People of different views, not so much. Paul tells us that our fight is against the evil one not against flesh and blood, Ephesians 6:12. And our fight is with ourselves to do what is right in God's eyes, not what the world tells us is right. That is what happened to Adam and Eve in the garden. They listened to a word that wasn't from the Lord and that allowed sin into this world.

Father, only you know what is right. Thank you for sharing your wisdom with us. I pray for your wisdom and discernment. May we know who is truly our enemy. May we stop manufacturing trouble and strife. May we use our time sharing with others the abundance of love you give us. May we honor you, praise you and worship only you, Father. Amen.

[9] Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

God is patient. He will wait for generations of the unfaithful to pass and raise up a generation that knows Him, follows His commands and rejoices in doing His will, Numbers 13 and 14.

Therefore, be strong and courageous, Joshua 1:6,7,9, 18, because the Lord is with those who are faithful. The Lord will bless the ground where the faithful walk and work, Joshua 1:3. God will be with those who seek Him, study and meditate on His word and walk his path, not turning to the right or the left, Joshua 1:7-8.

Father, you are with those who are with you. Your plan was not for us to be away from you, but we turned and disobeyed you, causing sin to enter the world. But through your grace you sent your son to show us how to live for you. Then as the ultimate gift you made him the sacrifice so we could be reconciled to you. Thank you for your love. I pray that when things get hard, when we are scared, fearful, that we turn to you for our strength and wisdom. May we be led by You, by your Spirit to do good. May we know you keep your promises, so we can be your hands and feet without worry. May we praise you all of our days. Amen.

[19] I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live,

Some people ask: if God is good why does he let bad things happen. God gives all of us free will. The choices people made yesterday impact us today. Adam allowed sin to come into this world by disobeying God. The only way for God to remove sin from the world is to remove all of us and start over.

God is not absent from our lives. Quite the opposite. Those who seek the Lord with all their heart, mind and strength will start to see the goodness of God all around. The evil and wicked will still be there, but what God has made for goodness, to be a blessing, will stand out more and more each day.

Sin and bad things happen. The good will make mistakes and will have to atone. But God is here everyday, all around us. We need to stop and see the beauty from the ashes.

Father, you can do more than we can imagine. Thank you for loving us and giving us the chance to do better. I pray we turn from our own foolish hearts and allow you to give us a new heart. May we walk and talk as you would have us walk and talk. May our will bow to yours and we abide in you. Thank you Lord for loving us so much that you sent your Son, Jesus to be the example on earth of how to live for you, that he would sacrifice himself to reconcile us to you and die on the cross, but was resurrected and after being seen by hundreds he ascended to heaven to reign with you in heaven. May we give you all the praise, honor and glory. Amen.

I found myself reading Romans 7:7- 8:11 this morning. The Apostle Paul is talking about overcoming sin in your life. He talked about his sin, how he does what he knows not to do and doesn't do what he should. He talks about overcoming sin, the way to accomplish this is through Jesus.

I don't know about you, but I know that I would like to eliminate the sin in my life. Maybe removing sin would bring more time to do good things. Maybe it is costing money, rest, closeness with people. Ultimately sin is causing us all to be separated from God.

Sin is real. Just like good and evil. Only through the grace of God and faith in Jesus will we be able to overcome the sin in our lives. If you could do it on your own Jesus's sacrifice wouldn't have been necessary. If we want to stop sinning, we need to spend more time and effort having a better relationship with God and Jesus.

God, we can't earn salvation on our own. We sin and fall short of what you want of us because we have a heart for ourselves and not full of you. Thank you for being our God and loving us. I pray for all who are trying earnestly to remove the sin from their lives, let them know you are there with them, Jesus, helping them get united with God. May we know that in our walk of faith we never walk alone. When we stumble and fail, Lord, help us up and remind us that we are not our sins as long as we get up and get back on the right path. Thank you Father, thank you Jesus. To you be the praise, honor and glory. We can't do it without you. Amen

[2] I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord; I have no good apart from you.”

It is hard to figure out what is actually right. The words right and fair are tossed around like ingredients in a salad. Some people toss salad in the trash because they don't like salad.

Let me tell you what I know is always right, in every situation, trust the LORD. Seek and follow his wisdom, his guidance, his discernment in all things.

If you don't know the LORD, talk to me and let me introduce you. If you know Him and it's been a minute, sit down, bow down, and reconnect with him. If you know him but don't love him, let's talk about it together with God. If you know and love Him, then make sure you know his heart and follow it.

You can tell me, or think that I am silly, misguided, dumb, etc., to follow a book written thousands of years ago, so on and so forth. As C.S. Lewis said, if I'm wrong, what harm am I doing trying to hold myself up to a higher standard, and asking others to do the same? But if I'm right, then I have helped others find salvation and avoid an eternity away from God.

Father, I know you are there, you are watching, you love us and you are jealous for each of us. You ask us, in our free will, to love you back and accept Jesus as your Son and our Savior. Thank you God for caring about me. Thank you Jesus for caring about my salvation. I pray I am doing good in your eyes. I pray that I am doing what you want me to do. May I walk on the path you have set, not to the left or the right but directly as you have instructed. May I honor you and give you all the praise, honor and glory for the good I do in my life because it is only because of you that I know what is good or right. I pray that those who need you seek you and hear you in the quiet beyond the noise. Amen.

God wants to be first in your life. The first Commandment is to have no other gods before Me, Exodus 20:3. It is about directing your heart to the One who is always true, and righteous.

You cannot serve two masters, Matthew 6:24, Luke 16:13. If you do, or have tried you know, you find that one you like better. The evil one will promise you cookies now for an eternity of torment and torture later. He wants you to doubt God, doubt your faith, remember your failures and say to yourself that God doesn't want followers that have flaws.

I tell you now that is a lie straight from the mouth of hell. God wants you as you are to accept him, accept Jesus, and walk away from the evil and wicked. If you could do it on your own, then Jesus would've had to be our perfect sacrifice. He would not have had to die for our sins. But none of us can do it on our own. It's not about being good enough, or worthy. It is about loving your God, changing under His direction, by His authority, becoming what He needs you to be to help His kingdom come.

Yes, it is changing your life from being about you, to being about God. Living for God, actually helping people, showing them how God saved you and he can save them. You don't save. Jesus saves, God saves. You deliver the mail, you don't write it.

Father, you are righteous and good. Thank you for being the good God. I pray I center my life around you. I know you will never fail me. I am humbled by your promise. I know you are true. May I give you all the praise, honor and glory for I am good only because of you. Amen.

Think on this fact; before you were born, Jesus died on the cross for the forgiveness of your sins. Not to give you permission to sin, but to give you grace and mercy, to reconcile you back to the Father, because God knew you would need forgiveness from your sins. Only God can, or would do that.

You don't deserve what has been done for you. You didn't earn it. You can't buy it. You get this forgiveness by accepting Jesus, confessing your sins and living in the ways of the Lord. This means there are 600+ laws to follow. But start with these two, love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind and strength. And, love your neighbor as yourself.

Father, you make it simple for us to be with you. Thank you for your love. I pray we follow your words and your heart. I pray we love the things you love and follow your ways and do your will, out of love. May our hearts be aligned with yours. May we give you all praise, honor and glory. Amen.

[1] Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. [2] Blessed is the man against whom the Lord counts no iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit.

God has given us an opportunity to be redeemed, reconciled to him. He sent Jesus to be our teacher on how to live for Him. Then Jesus died for our sins. On the third day Jesus was resurrected and brought good news to those who had faith, even if it was weak. Then Jesus was glorified by God, and Jesus ascended to heaven to sit at the right hand of God.

Yes David, blessed is the man whom God finds no iniquity or deceit. Everyone else needs to repent, and confess to the Lord, to Jesus what they have done wrong, how they have wronged others. If there is a price to pay on earth for your transgressions, then pay it. Testify how the Lord turned your heart from sin to righteousness and how you have changed. Be a blessing, and an encouragement story for others.

God, I read Psalm 32, and I think about the good things you have done in my life and I know that I do things outside of your will. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to repent and come back to my walk with you. I pray that others think upon their story and they choose to repent and follow you. May we give you all of our praise, all the glory and all the honor Lord for the good we do and you give us Lord. Amen.
