We are sad to see summer go, but what a time it was! From our two open houses in May to our transition from Belleville EMS to Sugar River EMS, we had countless adventures, trainings, and events throughout these wonderful summer months. As we head in to fall we say goodbye to the warm sunny days, but look foward to the many events still happening in our communties and the memories yet to come!

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Ethel Lamboley.

Ethel was an important part of our EMS family and a big reason we are where we are today. Her husband, Ray, was a charter member; her daughter, Debbie, is currently our longest-serving active member; and many of her grandchildren have been involved with the service over the years.

We are deeply grateful to Ethel for her many contributions to Sugar River EMS. Her support, encouragement, and dedication helped strengthen our service and created a lasting family legacy of service to our community.

We extend our deepest sympathies to Debbie, Becky and the entire Lamboley family during this difficult time.

Rest in peace, Ethel. Thank you for all you contributed to Sugar River EMS and for the lasting impact you made on our EMS family.

One of the best parts of serving our local community is the connection we get to share with the people who call it home.

We’re incredibly grateful for this thoughtful note and box of treats —and even more so for the personal follow-up after a call. Getting to hear from the people we’ve cared for, and knowing how they’re doing afterward, means more to our crews than you might realize.

Thank you for thinking of us, for the treats, and for reminding us just how special it is to serve in communities that are many of our homes and some of ours homes away from home.

Thanks Rolli Girls Good Corn for helping keep our crew fed with a true farm to station meal today!

🚨FIRST RESPONDER TRAINING MONDAY🚨
On Monday, August 24th our School District will be conducting an Active Shooter Incident Management training exercise in partnership with local and regional first responders. The training will take place at the Elementary School, beginning at 5:00 PM and lasting approximately four (4) hours.

This exercise is designed to improve coordination between law enforcement, fire, and EMS during critical incidents. You may notice an increased presence of emergency vehicles at the Elementary School during this time; please avoid the area to allow the teams to conduct the training effectively.

As part of this exercise, we will be testing our panic button system at least twice. These systems, funded by the April 2025 operational referendum, are designed to alert the school community and emergency responders to immediate danger. Please be aware that these tests will trigger audible alarms inside and outside the building.

Thank you for your ongoing support as we work with our local first responders to ensure the safety of our students and staff.

Sincerely,

Jim Schmitt
District Administrator
