This year Good Neighbor served families, strengthened community ties, brought resources to those in need, and created spaces for healing and belonging.

On this National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, the Indigenous Pathways family honours the survivors of residential and boarding schools for Indigenous children and remembers those who never returned home.

As we lift up the voices of Indigenous matriarchs and women in community this year, we especially remember the mothers whose children never came home, the sisters who survived, the daughters whose languages and cultures and families were stolen.

We affirm that every child matters.

Will you join us?

Here are some ways you might observe Orange Shirt Day, the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation in Canada and/or the National Day of Remembrance for Indian Boarding Schools in the United States:

• Wear orange (and learn why we do at orangeshirtday.org).
• Find an event in your area to attend, and listen to the stories of survivors.
• Read the final report and calls to action issued by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada.
• Read the Federal Indian Boarding School Initiative investigative report released by the U.S. Department of the Interior.
• Support Indigenous students by participating in Indigenous Pathways' online auction benefitting the Elijah Harper and Richard Twiss education funds at indigenouspathways.com.
• Make a difference for generations to come with a donation to Indigenous Pathways, iEmergence, NAIITS: An Indigenous Learning Community or another Indigenous-led organization.

Two gardening projects this weekend 500 elementary school students learning about three sisters and indigenous culture and dancing in a friendship dance. Also had 25 Boy Scouts out to the garden site to complete another Eagle Scout project. It’s starting to look real good thank you to everyone who helped. If you know of anyone that can benefit from a garden project or some teachings, let me know Ixehe

The Good Neighbor Project Gardens in Los Angeles California had the Boy Scouts out today working on an Eagle Scout project! These boys did good worked hard and worked well together. Great to have some help getting the garden vision more complete.

People ask me what was it like living in Canada. And I usually have good things to say but they are sprinkled with this BS it is always in the back ground. Obviously it’s not every one and I have some good friends and family that live there but this is where the ignorant racist tend pool up. I guess make them famous…. Careful out there my friends. Also if you want to fish and vacation look up these guys.
