✨ A Moment to Remember: Godreason’s Story ✨

On our first visit, we met 16-year-old Godreason. As we arrived, he lifted his voice in joyful song, sensing something special was about to happen. When he was fitted with his new wheelchair, he looked up and prayed—asking God to bless us and keep watch over us for all we had done to bless him. 💙

His name, Godreason, reflects the question many parents ask in moments of hardship: Why? And yet, God reminds us—He has a reason beyond our understanding. God loves Godreason… and so do we. 🙏

Together, we are changing lives—one child, one story, one gift at a time. 💛

“When I ponder what to write or talk about, I remember the plights of my past and why I give you praise. Then I reveal your glory by showing how you’ve worked in my life”
Psalm 143:5 (Paraphrased)

Recently, Sally was invited to interview on a YouTube podcast, “Insights with Marcia”. The hostess, Marcia Upson, met us years ago when African Moons began. It was a Sunday morning service where we spoke about African Moons, when Marcia, a perfect stranger, put a generous offering in our hands that Sunday morning. It was a great encouragement to us because we were facing a severe test of our faith as we built the first dormitory on the campus of the Arusha Bible College.

In early January of this year, Marcia invited Sally to be interviewed on her podcast, “Insights with Marcia”. Marcia began the interview with these words…

“Some stories don’t begin with a business plan or a bold idea. They begin with a calling—sometimes generations before the person who finally carries it forward.

Safe Home for Children with Disabilities is our partner in Arusha. The Founders are Simon and Yuster. Every day they display God’s compassion to children with various disabilities.

In their compact car they transport a couple of children to the Safe Home. But there are children with Cerebral Palsy who cannot get in such a small car and these
children need so much help. Yuster wants to pick up all the children she can and take them to Safe Home. This would free up the Moms to work enabling them to better provide for their children.

They have asked if we could help them purchase a van. The goal is to raise $25,000.00 to purchase a used van in Arusha.

One person gives $5000
Two people each give $2500
Ten people each give $1000
Four people each give $500
Eight people each give $250
Ten people each give $100

Whatever you are able to give will help us reach this goal by November. You can spread your gift into 3 months or 6 months. This will be an incredible gift to transport these children so they receive love and care at “Safe Home for Children with Disabilities”!

Your continued prayers and financial support encourage us to pursue the call God has given us to minister to our beloved Tanzanians. We also know that many of our partners have requested prayer for healing. We are a God-called family who bears one another’s burdens. You can rest assured that we carry you before the Lord in prayer, knowing that our faithful Father hears our requests.

Happy Mother’s Day to the incredible mothers and mother figures who pour out love, strength, and sacrifice every single day. Today, we celebrate the women who nurture, guide, and inspire not only their own families, but entire communities.

At African Moons, we are especially grateful for the mothers in Tanzania who work tirelessly to care for their children through life’s challenges, as well as the women who lovingly step into motherly roles at places like Shalom Centre, providing comfort, guidance, and hope.

“Her children arise and call her blessed…” – Proverbs 31:28

To every mother, grandmother, caregiver, and woman whose love has made a difference, we celebrate you today. Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at African Moons. ❤️

For “Safe Home for Children with Disabilities,” the monthly rent and support have been sent! The love and care being poured into these precious children with special needs—and the families who walk this journey with them—is truly overwhelming. It is the kind of compassion that brings tears to our eyes and hope to hearts that need it most. We are deeply moved by what God is doing through Safe Home, and words simply cannot express how vital your prayers and support are to the mission of African Moons. You are part of something truly life-changing.

Hance started Primary School in 2018 at the age of six; receiving a scholarship from African Moons. Every school year African Moons has provided a scholarship for Hance. He graduated from Junior High with grade A performance and qualified for Secondary School Education. It is not a given that a child is able to attend high school; grades determine if a student can continue his education.

He started his Secondary Education in 2025 at Kilasara Secondary School (Private School). Shalom Centre saw potential in Hance; the decision was made to send him to a private school in order to maximize his chances of performing well by having the best school facilities.

Hance wants to become a doctor in the future. He will take the National High School Examinations in November 2026. His scores will determine the next step for his dream of becoming a doctor

By faith we can see God blessing Hance and guiding his steps. Our hearts are filled with love for Hance and the children of Shalom
