Another couple of “coincidences” to consider.
1. Throughout the Passion of Jesus Christ, He did not sustain a single broken bone.
2. Yesterday’s amazing opening of hearts and giving to Allan’s GoFundMe occurred on 27th June, the feast day of Our Mother of Perpetual Help, who is known for miracles and answers to prayer. It is associated with a 15th-century Byzantine icon of the Madonna and Child.
The original painting has been enshrined in the Church of San Matteo in Via Merulana since 27th March 1499, and is today permanently enshrined in the Church of Saint Alphonse of Liguori, where the official Novena to Our Mother of Perpetual Help text is prayed weekly.
The painting tells us of the story of when our dear Lord was yet a small boy, He loved to play in the garden. On one occasion the Archangels, Michael and Gabriel, appeared to Him and held before His tender eyes the instruments of His future torture - the cross, the nails, the lance. The little Jesus, in terror, fled into the house and sought refuge in the arms of His Mother. In His haste the Child nearly lost one of His sandals. In this picture it is seen falling from His foot. "From the meaning of this picture we see that Our Lord Himself went to Mary, Our Mother of Perpetual Help, when He was in danger and in need."
Your generosity and the power of prayer will help Allan on his journey to full recovery.
