UPDATE!!:

The forecast seems like it may be willing to give us a break for the weekend so we are going to keep the sale going through Sunday. Had a bit of a wind fiasco today with our canopies but we recovered and we're looking forward to a good sale weekend. We really want to sell all this estate stuff so come on down!! Tomorrow (Friday 10/16) through Sunday (10/18).

It's very impromptu, but if we keep waiting for a dry weekend we might be waiting until next summer. So...

Hello!

This sweet little 3 year old, 8 lb male poodle named Indy is needing a foster home. Sadly, his senior mom is going into an assisted living home and he cannot go with her.

Indy is a very sweet and affectionate lap dog, but he is used to living with one person in a very quiet home. He has some separation anxiety because he wants to be with his person all the time, and he is going to be afraid of other dogs or cats but he could probably be in a calm foster home with a respectful dog or cat.

Thank you so much Katie! We are 85% of the way there. Katie will be out of town from October 15th through the 22nd. Is anyone available to take care of this little man for that week?

Hello!

We were able to move both of the little Chihuahua's into foster homes, but unfortunately, nothing came through for this cutie. He is estimated to be approximately five months old and weighs 35 pounds so he will be an approximately 45-50lb medium sized adult dog.

This cute boy came in to the shelter on Aug 29th, so he is really growing up in a county shelter! He was very fearful when he first arrived at the shelter, but he warmed up quickly and he loves the staff.

He is a good natured puppy who loves other dogs. Please SHARE and consider whether you can foster this sweet boy and get him into a real home. WE CAN DO IT!! Portland metro area only please.

UPDATE:

Both little Chihuahuas were moved to their separate foster homes today, and we are hoping to move the pup to a new foster home possibly Monday. Thank you all for caring so much! This is how we save lives. ❤️

Ok everybody. We're lighting a fire looking for foster homes for two shelter dogs who really deserve a chance to have a happy life (well, really they all deserve that but today we're working on these two), and one little guy who's just in a tough situation.

The first dog is a cute little four year-old, 7lb neutered male Chihuahua who has a single bite on his record. He bit a child in the face but it was a minor bite and the owner explained to the shelter staff that it was the child's fault because he was told not to but he still stuck his face in the face of the dog 🙄. He has been friendly with shelter staff and loves to sit in someone's lap. He has finished his required quarantine period so he is good to go and get a fresh start.

The second dog is a puppy! He weighs 26lbs and is an approximately five months old mixed breed (?) boy who has been at the shelter since the end of August. He is growing up in the shelter! 😢 This boy is a very nice dog who was really scared when he came to the shelter but has warmed up with all of the staff. He's really good with other dogs. He's a really good boy who needs to be in a home!

The third dog is also a very nice dog. He is considered a senior at 11 years old even though small dogs can easily live to 20 years old. He is neutered, weighs under 10lbs and is good with cats and small dogs and just gets nervous around big dogs.

URGENT!! All Frenchie peeps!

This 2 year old male French Bulldog came into our local county shelter extremely underweight and with skin issues. He also has a deformed ear from untreated ear infections 😢. He has been recovering well in the shelter, but he is now vomiting up some plastic and rope that he evidently swallowed before coming into the county shelter. It is now becoming an obstruction that will likely require emergency surgery. We are willing to take on his case but we need a foster home for him to go into first.

He has had a dog-to-dog test and he does well as long as they don't get up in his face and push too hard. And even at that he will just correct them to reclaim his space.

Please SHARE and consider whether you can foster this boy so we can give him the chance he deserves to find his forever home. Local Portland Metro area only please.

Remember Nina? She's the little Shih Tzu girl who came in to the county shelter as a stray, very pregnant, and with no one looking for her 😢.

Fast forward to this Saturday, September 26th, and Nina's adorable six puppies will be with us for a Puppy Kissing Fundraiser at the Pets On Broadway at Reeds Crossing, Hillsboro, from 2 to 5 PM.

Puppy Kissing cost is $5 for all the snuggles you can possibly manage ❤️🐾❤️.

The puppies are all currently posted on Petfinder and available for adoption. They have all been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, wormed, and microchipped. Their adoption fee is $1000, which may seem high, but if you've been to a veterinarian recently, you know that we are barely at break even with this adoption fee, and we are upside down on most of our other adoptions. We don't need to make money on our adoptions but it's important that we aren't upside down so we can continue to pay for unexpected surgeries on others.

Meantime, the puppies are adorable and sweet. We really want them to go to homes with securely fenced backyards and have another smallish dog (not a senior dog) as a companion in their pack. they also need to go to someone who is surefooted, because they love to run right under your feet!!

Hello!

Today is 'Have A Heart For Adult Kitties In Crisis' day...💔

We are posting four separate adult cats who are all in sad situations and in need of new homes. With kittens available literally everywhere, it's SO important that we SHARE and really think about whether we know someone who would benefit from having an indoor kitty companion who is already over the hanging-from-the-drapes stage and ready for a lap...

First, is Cici, an 8 year old spayed female chubby 'Tortie' who has lived with one person her entire life and that person passed away this past Saturday. She is currently living alone in the home but can't stay there 😞. She is a little shy of new people but would do great with adults in a quiet home. She is not comfortable around other cats or dogs.

Second, is Kitty, a 6 year old chubby spayed female 'Gray Tabby Over White'. Kitty's mom has Alzheimer's and is now living in a memory care facility 😞. She's a cute, friendly girl.

Third, is Linus, a 5 year old neutered male 'Gray w/Green Eyes' kitty who could have Russian Blue in there. Linus was rescued after being abandoned in a neighborhood to fend for himself 😞. He is super friendly.

Fourth, is a Tabby male who was just trapped at Indigo Ranch after our resident heard someone drive down our rural road a couple nights ago briefly, and the kitty was left behind 😞. The kitty was crying and scared but we really don't know anything else yet. We'll try to get a picture of him soon. He needs to be seen by a vet and he'll definitely need a home.

Again, PLEASE really give some thought to whether you, or someone you know might be able to help one of these kitties who are in emergency situations they can't understand and definitely don't deserve. we adopt indoor only cats or to homes with catios.

Remember Chad? He's the mud turtle who was abandoned in a college dormitory. We've been trying to find a home for him for more than a year. Well today we did just that. We adopted Chad to a lovely family in Beavercreek who was so excited to have him!

Chad, who is normally very shy, was actually pretty active and checking out his new digs.

Yaaaay for Chad!! 🐢❤️

And big thanks to Susan for fostering him for all this time ❤️.
