The Single Ply Project is a design and woodworking apprenticeship that pairs six emerging designers with six mentors to explore the intersection of creativity, craftsmanship, and problem-solving. Each mentor builds their own chair while assisting their student apprentice in theirs. Through sketching, prototyping, material exploration, and fabrication, participants learn how constraints can fuel innovation while developing foundational skills in design process and woodworking. The program culminates in a public exhibition where all twelve chairs are displayed, celebrating the creative process and demonstrating how a simple material can become a vehicle for design, storytelling, and community connection.

Dates: July 12, 19, 26th afternoons + Open Lab Times throughout August

Location: Todo Center (12690 SW 1st St, Beaverton, OR 97005)

Cost: Sliding scale donation of $100, free for high school students

Fútbol Fest ’26 is a community celebration of the world’s game, bringing together soccer, culture, art, food, and creativity in the heart of Beaverton. Taking place on July 11, 2026, at Cedar Hills Park & , the event features public viewing parties for the FIFA World Cup Quarterfinals (2pm and 6pm), a recreational 7v7 tournament players, international food vendors, music, local artists and makers, interactive activities, and community programming for all ages. More than a tournament or watch party, Fútbol Fest celebrates soccer as a universal language that connects communities, creates belonging, and brings people together across cultures.
