Last Thursday, May 7th- broke ground on the new Fire Station 2, a major step forward for our community and our members.

Station 2 has proudly served this city since 1954. For more than 70 years, it’s been home to generations of firefighters and countless apparatus — most recently Engine 2 and Medic 2. Medic 2, our 5th ambulance, came online in 2018 in response to rising call volumes, and our crews have been working hard to meet that growing demand ever since.

We’re excited for a contemporary, purpose-built station designed with firefighter health, safety, and wellness as top priorities. Features that reduce cancer risks, improve decontamination, provide better sleep and recovery areas, and support both physical and mental wellness mean our members can serve you better and go home safer. This new station represents the next chapter.

This event's turnout was outstanding, and we are incredibly grateful for the support shown by our community and city leadership. There are far too many people that showed up to individually recognize. We especially want to thank the Mayor, City Council members, city leadership, fire administration, planning committees, the building planners/design team, and everyone else whose hard work and dedication helped make this project a reality. Your continued support of public safety does not go unnoticed.

We know construction may temporarily impact parking at City Hall, and we appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we work to minimize disruptions and keep access as smooth as possible throughout the project.

We’re proud of our history at Station 2, and even more excited for the future. This new facility will help us serve you better, faster, and safer for decades to come.

In December of 2004, tragedy struck the Baytown Fire Department when Probationary Firefighter Nito Guajardo passed away in a house fire. In honor of his memory and dedication to service, we hold the annual Nito Guajardo Memorial Golf Tournament to support our future leaders. We are excited to announce that this year's tournament will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, at the Eagle Point Golf Course. Proceeds from this event will go to the Baytown Professional Firefighters Charitable Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The funds raised will provide scholarships for Baytown high school graduates who are pursuing higher education.

Last year, thanks to the generous support of our community and sponsors, we were able to award $12,000 in scholarships to deserving seniors from GCCISD and BHISD. With your support, we hope to surpass this amount and continue to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our youth. We invite you to join us as a sponsor for this year’s event. Your contribution will not only help us honor the legacy of Firefighter Nito Guajardo but also invest in the education and future of our community’s young leaders.

Your participation is crucial in the success of this tournament, and we are so thankful for all your support and contributions. https://events.golfstatus.com/event/2026-nito-guajardo-memorial-golf-tournament-brought-to-you-by-siddons-martin-emergency-group

proudly endorse Briscoe Cain for U.S. Congress (TX-9) and Marty Lancton For Harris County Judge.

As a State Representative for Texas House District 128, Briscoe Cain has consistently fought for firefighters and first responders, ensuring our profession has a strong voice at the Capitol. His leadership and dedication to public safety make him the right choice for Congress.

As President of the Houston Professional Fire Fighters Association, Marty Lancton tirelessly fought for Houston’s firefighters and the safety of the community. His proven record of standing up for working families and public safety is exactly the leadership Harris County needs.

These two leaders have shown their commitment to firefighters and the communities we serve. We are proud to stand with them.

are proud to work alongside our brothers and sisters with the Baytown Police Department to serve and protect our community.

Remember, if you ever need us, we’re a phone call away.

On Saturday, May 24, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Baytown officers responded to a possible drowning at a home in the 5300 block of East Road. When they arrived, two men—an off-duty paramedic and a fire marshal—were performing CPR on 10-year-old Gavin, who had been found unresponsive in the pool by his older brother.

Officers quickly stepped in—carrying Gavin to EMS so he could be flown out by Life Flight for emergency care. An officer also transported Gavin’s mother to the hospital so she could be there for her son and provide vital medical information during the critical moments that followed.

Thanks to the fast actions of family members, bystanders, first responders, and medical staff—Gavin survived.

Yesterday, Gavin stopped by our Public Safety building to personally thank our department and Baytown Fire Department personnel for helping save his life. He hand-delivered a heartfelt letter and shared his appreciation with those who responded that day. Gavin is doing well, recovering at home, and spending the summer with his family.

We don’t take moments like these for granted—they remind us why we serve. Stay safe, buddy!
