In total, across District 6440, about 900 Rotary members and friends representing 42 clubs in 39 communities are joining the world's largest polio walk and raising money to end polio. The disease familiar to many only in a historical sense- photos of FDR in his wheelchair, leg braces, and rows of iron lungs in a hospital ward. Sadly polio continues to be part of our modern world, and today, on Polio Awareness Day, Bartlett Rotary Club did our part to fight the disease that still remains a threat to vulnerable populations around the world. Thanks to all who walked, donated or supported from a far. Thanks also the the Bartlett Park District and the Village of Bartlett!
