Four Paws Animal Foundation To adopt one of our rescues, please complete an application, which can be downloaded from our website fourpawsAF.org.

The organization was incorporated in 1997 as an all-volunteer foster home feline rescue/adoption/sanctuary and licensed by the Illinois Department of Agriculture as a shelter with a 501(c)3 status. An appointment can then be made to visit the cats. Since all of our cats are in foster homes, this is the easiest way to schedule a time to meet with the cats.

Our bright eyed sweetheart "Penny" came home last night after being so well taken care of by the staff at Hanover Park Animal Care Center. x-rays showed her colon is now clear of f***s and did not show any obstruction in her colon. She will be on Lactulose and Miralax life-long along with fluids. With a litle coxing she did eat a small anount of wet food last night and again this morning but will continue to give her an appetite stimulant for a few days. "Penny" has such a laid back personality and we will continue to get her back to her loveable peppy self.

"Penny" our 12 year old young senior lady who has been a wonderful companion to some of our other rescue seniors was not feeling herself for a few days and we took her in yesterday for a work up exam to find out the possible cause. Although her blood work is excellent as is her urinary results doctor found through x-ray that she was very constipated so much so that an ordinary e***a would not help clear the colon. We brought her in this morning so doctor could perform a Deobstipation procedure under anesthesia. I am waiting for the doctor to call me as to how she is doing and also for a "go home" time today and future follow up care for our oh so sweet and gentle "Penny". Please keep her in your prayers for a positive report on her condition. Thank you!

"Miss Uni" came to us from CACC in 2015 as a 5 month old stray with neurological issues and possible blindness. For all her years with us we have made her as comfortable as possible and she has had good and not so good days. But when I whispered in her ear of all the wonderful donations we recently received from our Amazon Wish List you could tell through her body language it was one of her good days that so many kind people were thinking of Four Paws. Aside from her minor neurological issues she has a good appetite, loves her treats and as sweet as can be.

Its only been a few days since we posted the need of supplies from our Amazon Wish List and we have already received can food, Purina GEMS, trash bags, cute food dishes, Dawn liquid detergent, etc. And our very sweet and beautiful senior lady "MARIELLE" THANKS YOU!! With donations of supplies our budget can focus on medical expenses for our rescues. We found this true a few years ago just after we rescued Marielle in 2019 from animal control. After evaluation from VCA Aurora it was determined that she had a slight stroke and was put on a regimant of medications and repeat follow up exams. And as you can see she recoperated in due time and now enjoys a comfortable life. Yes your donations are important and we are very grateful for your continued support.

"VICKY" came to us from CACC in June 2024 at 13 years of age with 2 large cysts on her stomach and continuing extreme diarrhea but now almost 2 years after surgery and biopsy results of non-cancerous cysts we note with a daily diet of can food mixed with pure pumpkin to help keep her stool semi formed she has been feeling good and cutely poses with her tongue out for the camera. Or maybe just telling me she wants more food!

Our Mr. Personality, "QUINN" is showing off his moves with his 23llb body of love. Quinn came to us with a BB pellet in his eye and furless due to severe Alopecia. Through all the medical care we gave him he never once showed any bad behavior and continues to be a real sweetheart going into his senior years!

We had to say goodbye today to another one of our senior rescues. "BELLA" came to us from CACC in 2016 after her owner had passed. Her intake papers at animal control explained she was taken in by the owners family but then turned outside after a few months. The granddaughters with love in their hearts went and found her and took her in to animal control and thus the beginning of her life at Four Paws. Although she did not show well with strangers for adoption she in time became to adjust to members of the Four Paws family. She loved being called by her name accompanied by ear and belly rubs. Run free sweet beautiful "Bella" we loved you!
