Four Paws Animal Foundation To adopt one of our rescues, please complete an application, which can be downloaded from our website fourpawsAF.org.

The organization was incorporated in 1997 as an all-volunteer foster home feline rescue/adoption/sanctuary and licensed by the Illinois Department of Agriculture as a shelter with a 501(c)3 status. An appointment can then be made to visit the cats. Since all of our cats are in foster homes, this is the easiest way to schedule a time to meet with the cats.

It has been 1 year this month that we rescued these two senior ladies from CACC and they are still as bonded to each other except maybe when it is feeding time and sweet Tia leads the way to their food dishes while Tita eventually decides to join her. Both Tita (17 years old and Tia the younger senior at 10 years of age) have adjusted very well to their new surroundings especially after being left in the CACC parking lot in one carrier overnight. We are happy to have them join our Four Paws family of rescues so that we can provide a comfortable life for their remaining years.

Our big boy "Quinn" is feeling much better after being on Prednisone for 3 weeks. His appetite has returned and his playful energy as well. Due to his age we will wait and watch closely if his prior symptoms return before having to sedate him to exam his throat. He is a LOVE!!!

It is a sad day here at Four Paws as we had to send one of our senior rescues "TOMMY" to the Rainbow Bridge to take charge of our other rescues as he did while in our care. Tommy came to us as a stray and was adopted and returned twice. Tommy was a very energetic and vocal cat and although loveable would choose an early morning hourto gain attention which became the reason for his return. We will miss you, Tommy, so much but know you are running free through sweet grassy meadows. Love you!!!!

Our new chipmunk visitor "Scooter" has found his way to the bird feeder even in the rain and "Marielle" is never too old to be fascinated by watching him scoop up those tasty seeds and we hope he leaves some for the birds!!!!

Our big sweet and loveable "QUINN" was showing signs that his asthma may have been acting up so we scheduled a vet exam for this afternoon. His xrays compared to last year showed an increase in asthma activity along with the possibily of a mass on his throat with some mild blood showing in his mouth which could be a sign of a dental problem but in order for doctor to have a better look he may have to be tranquilized as he was not too cooperative touching his mouth today. For now he was given an antibiotic injection and we will start him on prednisone with a recheck in 2 weeks.

Sweet "Vicky" gave us a scare today. She wasn't her sassy self and not eating and very lethargic. At 15 years of age with serious prior medical issues before we rescued her from CACC we thought it may have been time to help her cross the Rainbow Bridge. But thankfully we were able to get an appointment this evening and with doctors advice we have given her medications to help the issues she is dealing with and a recheck in 2 weeks. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
