Four Paws Animal Foundation To adopt one of our rescues, please complete an application, which can be downloaded from our website fourpawsAF.org.

The organization was incorporated in 1997 as an all-volunteer foster home feline rescue/adoption/sanctuary and licensed by the Illinois Department of Agriculture as a shelter with a 501(c)3 status. An appointment can then be made to visit the cats. Since all of our cats are in foster homes, this is the easiest way to schedule a time to meet with the cats.

Sweet "Vicky" gave us a scare today. She wasn't her sassy self and not eating and very lethargic. At 15 years of age with serious prior medical issues before we rescued her from CACC we thought it may have been time to help her cross the Rainbow Bridge. But thankfully we were able to get an appointment this evening and with doctors advice we have given her medications to help the issues she is dealing with and a recheck in 2 weeks. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

Just sharing some positive thoughts. When I think of all the hard times all of us are experiencing throughout our country I look at "JillyAnn's" beautiful face and am thankful even for a moment or two how fortunate our organization is to be of service to help bring comfort to aninals in need if even in a small way. There are so, so, so many cats and dogs waiting for their forever home and if you are in a position to adopt please visit your local animal shelter and talk to a volunteer who can help you find the right fit for your family. There are organizaions out there to help with food, spay/neutering (which is normaly provided by the organization adopting the animal to a family) and if you search the internet you may find an animal clinic that may offer low cost minor medical care. If you already have a family pet please don't stop kissing and hugging them for the JOY and LOYALTY they bring!!!

It is with sadness and a heavy heart that I had to help my oh so gentle "Robby" cross over to the Rainbow Bridge. I adopted him back in March of 2025 at an estimated age of 13 and was a stray dog. He had medical issues that gradually escalated while in my care that resulted in liver disease and cancer. "Robby" was such a sweet dog and got along with some of our rescues as seen in this video with "Mork" sharing his breakfast without any aggressive issues. To say I will miss Robby is understated but to be able to have given him peace was the best I could do for him. So many beautiful memories remain in my heart and I send him my LOVE everyday.

Sadly we said goodbye to our sweet "Uni" who we pulled from CACC back in 2015 where she was estimated to be about 1 year old but possibly blind and deaf. We had her examined by a veterinary eye specialist where she confirmed Uni was blind and possibly deaf. Although shy at times with humans she got along very well with other rescues and continued in our care. You will be missed our tiny little girl but know you are now able to see the beautiful road to the Rainbow Bridge.

"Sarah" continues to get back to her playful self and invites her toy to share her food and looks like she is taking "no" for an answer! "Rosie" being the smart roomie she is, is staying "way a way" from all this!

It has been taking time but "Tita" and "Tia" two bonded sweet seniors are continuing to leave behind their being traumatized by being left in the CACC parking lot overnite in one carrier. I dont know the circumstances of why a family had to do this to them but I have to believe they were loved as they really are very sweet and both love to give and receive kisses. We are so happy we could be there for them on their journey to a safe life.
