• Is one of over 80 Department of Defense STARBASE education sites in the country.
• Utilizes 25 hours of hands-on instruction in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) to promote goal setting, teamwork, problem solving and collaboration in a real world setting.
• Correlates STARBASE curricula with national and state objectives.
• Targets 5th grade classes
in Bossier and Caddo Parishes and continues the STEM pipeline by going to local schools in 6th through 12th grades.
• Has a certified teaching staff that works with each class and their homeroom teacher in its 5-day academies.
• Models hands-on teaching methods, innovative brain-based instructional strategies, and provides guided reinforcement activities for classroom teachers.
• Provides teacher training through workshops and field experiences.
