HCE Mid-Week Wrap-Up!
It's been a great week of creativity at the HCE Boys & Girls Club! Our Club Kids enjoyed Free Draw Monday, created colorful rainbow paper art on Tuesday, designed handprint dragons on Wednesday, and made special Father's Day projects for the dads and father figures in their lives.
We're proud of the creativity, imagination, and hard work our Club Kids show every day. Great kids, great community, bright futures.

Junior Community Heroes in Action!

Our HCE Boys and Girls Club 4th and 5th grade members are learning leadership, civic responsibility, and teamwork through the Junior Community Heroes Program!

This week, they explored Hill Country Elementary, mapped important areas of the campus, identified opportunities for improvement, and shared ideas to make their school an even better place for everyone.

We are so proud of these young leaders for showing that even small actions can make a big difference. πŸ’™

Our Hill Country Elementary Club members put their creativity to work as they designed their very own superheroes and superhero capes!

From Spider Girls and patriotic heroes to imaginative characters with unique powers like flying, talking to animals, and helping others, our kids showed just how creative and thoughtful they can be.

Through this activity, members explored self-expression, imagination, and confidence while sharing what makes their superheroes special. We loved seeing the unique ideas, colorful designs, and big smiles as each child brought their hero to life!

Great job, HCE Club superheroesβ€”you remind us every day that courage, kindness, creativity, and determination are real superpowers. πŸ’™

Today our HCE Club kids were excited to welcome the BISD Book Mobile for the first time this Summer....

Each child had the opportunity to browse a wonderful selection of books and was personally helped by three amazing BISD Book Mobile staff members to find a book that was just right for them. The excitement on their faces as they selected their new books was priceless.
In addition to receiving a book, our members were also gifted fun, color-your-own scented bookmarks to take home and enjoy with their new reading adventures.
Over the next two weeks, our Club members will enjoy reading their new books during daily quiet reading time, giving them the opportunity to build their reading skills, explore new stories, and develop a lifelong love of reading.

A huge thank you to the BISD Book Mobile team for bringing books, creativity, and the joy of reading to our Club. We are grateful for your partnership and for helping inspire a love of reading in our kids.

Our Boy and Girls Club Alkek Unit got to see some of the gumball3000 cars in action and even got to take a picture with one. Fun experience for all.
