🎒 Serve Aurora Back-to-School Community Event — August 29, 2026

What an incredible Saturday! 💙📚

On Saturday, August 29, 2026, Serve Aurora was proud to host our Back-to-School Community Event in Aurora, Colorado, bringing together families, community organizations, local businesses, vendors, and volunteers to help students get ready for the new school year.

From school supplies and educational resources to community services and family-friendly activities, the event was all about making sure our community has the resources and support it needs to thrive.

A huge THANK YOU to every volunteer, vendor, community partner, donor, and family who joined us and helped make this event possible. Your involvement demonstrates what can happen when a community comes together.

Lost and found in Aurora!

We thought $200 worth of school supplies for our Back-to-School Fest were gone for good, but a chance encounter with a kind stranger from Remove and Replace Solar brought them right back to us.

Turns out, they had placed a note on the recycling bin, but someone had removed it.

Instead of throwing things out, they put it in there storage waiting for someone to reach out to claim it! Today they saw us in our resource center that used to be there space and asked if we could use school supplies and come to find out it was our missing supplies.

We are grateful that no matter what the supplies were going to be utilized for a good cause. Even better, this moment sparked a brand-new connection with them and there local church, and we are already discussing exciting ways to collaborate for our community.

Why September 25? Because we’re giving a special nod to Dolly’s iconic song “9 to 5” — a celebration of the hardworking people who keep our communities moving every day. 🕘➡️🕔

We’ve listened to the Aurora community and people across the world who want to see a day set aside to recognize Dolly Parton’s incredible legacy of music, literacy, education, generosity, philanthropy, and service to others.

📚 From the Dolly Parton Imagination Library to her countless acts of generosity, Dolly has spent decades using her platform to make a positive difference.
