Diane Tharp is an award-winning watercolor artist residing in the foothills of Auburn, CA. Diane has been painting watercolors for over 30 years and she shows her artwork at Auburn Old Town Gallery and High Hand Gallery in Loomis. Diane also is very involved with the Placer Artists Studios Tour in November and the North Auburn Artists Tour in May.
Diane was an educator for over 30 years and taught fine art and music during some of those years. After retirement, she has done demos for local art organizations and has taught private art classes and elementary school art lessons, as well as occasional Paint and Sip classes. She is currently looking into teaching watercolors classes in the Auburn region.
Diane’s watercolors are known for their strong values and color. Her subjects tend to lean towards nature and the natural wonders she has seen hiking and in her travels. Painting watercolors brings Diane great joy and she loves to share that joy with others!

Louise McGowan Bezark is an accomplished artist with more than a decade of works in private collections throughout the US. Her inspirations come from color, texture and shape, from creatures large and small, mineral and animal, all around the globe. She has a passion for wildlife that graces many of her works.

Multiple processes are combined to create her gourd vessels; pyro-engraving, painting and detail carving along with her often bold use of color, negative space and texture, bringing forth the unexpected into view. She often uses metal leafing, pine needle weaving and embellishments to create cohesive and simple illustrations of life.

Her work has been recognized by the California Gourd Society and the Cal Expo, Fine Arts Division, as well as being featured on the cover of Natomas N Magazine. You will find Louise and her work at various art shows & events throughout the year, including the Art Walk this Sunday, noon -4 at the Auburn Old Town Gallery.

Frank Bloksberg will be at Edelweiss 2 this Sunday, noon-4pm for the Historic Old Town Art Walk.

“Since I am a recently retired lawyer, I finally have time for photography - something I have loved my entire life. In fact, my parents gave me my first camera before I was 10 years old.

I have always loved being in nature, particularly in the mountains. Not surprisingly then, I mostly do landscape and wildlife photography. In particular, I do a lot of Milky Way photography. Being in the remote wilderness at night is one of my greatest joys. I know of no better way to experience the serenity, beauty and calmness of the great outdoors. It’s simply amazing.

I make personally expressive photographs. That is, I strive for my photographs to help viewers sense the awe, beauty and reverence that I feel for the natural world.

I use zero generative AI in my photography.”
