💔 We need your help. 💔

This past week Southern Paws Rescue, Lily's Ranch and Rescue and Fluffs Sake Cat Rescue INC were contacted by the daughter of a woman who recently passed away.
Along with the heartbreak of losing a loved one came another heartbreaking reality: she left behind a huge colony of cats.

As it so often happens, the cycle of unspayed and unneutered cats caused the population to grow beyond what one person could manage.

Now, with the caretaker gone, nearly 40 cats including mothers with LOTS of kittens have been left behind with no one to care for them.

They need our help now!

Before even more babies are born!

Three rescues have come together to tackle this enormous task, but we cannot do it alone.

Every single cat needs veterinary care.
Every single cat needs to be spayed or neutered.
The friendly cats deserve the chance to find loving homes of their own.
The cats that are not socialized enough for adoption will be safely returned after receiving the medical care they need so they can live healthier lives.

This is a massive undertaking.
Forty cats.
Forty lives.
Forty chances to make a difference.

Today, we are asking our community to stand with us.
Your donations will help cover spay and neuter surgeries, vaccines, veterinary exams, medications, food, and supplies.

$30 will cover one cat’s spay/neuter, vaccinations, and microchip!!

But even just $1 will help these cats!!

Our goal is to raise $1200
Current amount raised: $335

If you cannot donate, please share this post. Every share helps these cats reach someone who may be able to help.

Together, we can turn a story of loss into a story of hope. Together, we can make sure these cats are not forgotten.

🐾 Please share and help us save these 40 precious lives 🐱

Spay-abort is one of the hardest parts of rescue and TNR work. No one enjoys it. But when you see what we see every day, you begin to understand why it is necessary.

Have you tried calling a rescue or shelter lately because you found kittens? Sick kittens? Injured kittens? A pregnant cat?

Most places are full. Completely overwhelmed. Many are turning away dozens of calls every week because there is simply nowhere left to put them.

THAT is the reality we are living in right now.

People often assume a spay-abort harms the mother cat, but medically, it can actually protect her health and even save her life.
Pregnancy and birth are incredibly demanding, especially for community cats already battling parasites, infections, malnutrition, harsh weather, predators, injuries, and constant stress.
Pregnancy increases the risk of complications, difficult births, infections, malnutrition, and death.
Young cats are especially vulnerable.

And the kittens? During a spay-abort procedure, they are undeveloped fetuses and do not experience pain. The procedure is performed humanely while the mother cat is under anesthesia for her spay surgery.

The heartbreaking truth is that many kittens born outdoors never survive. Some studies estimate that fewer than 25% of outdoor-born kittens make it to adulthood. Many die from upper respiratory infections, parasites, starvation, exposure, predators, injuries, or being hit by cars.

We see it every day.

Tiny kittens struggling to breathe.
Tiny kittens too weak to eat.
Tiny kittens who never get the chance to grow up.

Spay-abort prevents suffering before it begins.

We understand why people feel emotional about it. We do too.

The people doing this work are not heartless. We cry. We lose sleep. We carry these decisions with us. But we are also the ones answering the calls when there are no fosters available, no cage space left, no transport options, and no rescues able to take another litter.

The community is overwhelmed.
Shelters are overwhelmed.
Rescues are overwhelmed.
TNR groups are overwhelmed.

And most of the people trying to hold this together are doing it before work, after work, late at night, and on weekends—unpaid, exhausted, and doing everything they can to help. Because if we stop, the suffering only gets worse.

Spay-abort is not about being cruel.
It is about making an incredibly difficult decision in an effort to stop an endless cycle of suffering before more cats are born into a world that already has far more cats than available homes

We do it for all the babies we couldn’t end up saving ❤️

‼️Spay and Neuter Sponsorships Needed‼️

We are currently working on doing TNR (Trap- Neuter-Release) on two Logan County stray cat colonies.

One is in a neighborhoood in Russellville and the other a house in Lewisburg.

We will be working hard along side our friends at both Fluffs Sake Cat Rescue INC and Lily's Ranch and Rescue to trap and fix all the cats, adopting out the non feral ones and re releasing the ferals.

What we need from the public are spay and neuter sponsorships!!

$30 covers a cats surgery, microchip, and vaccines!!

Our goal now is to raise enough money to be able to take care of all the cats in both colonies!!

Are you able to help?

You can bring a cash or check into the rescue or donate below ⬇️

(Put Spay and Neuter Sponsorship in the details of payment please)

TOGETHER we can get all these cats taken care of and stop the continuous populating!!!
