Arts!

Since the end of June, Yes Arts has been moving through its inaugural Pick Plus Bow initiative program. Free for kids, this first session runs until mid-August. What a week for the Stidham Old Time Music Association.
We were proud to have our Pick and Bow/JAM program help open the 9th Annual Stidham Old Time Music Gathering. Over two days, more than 200 people came together to celebrate old-time music, Appalachian culture, and community.
The Gathering featured 23 musical acts from across Appalachia and six workshops in banjo, fiddle, guitar, and dance.
We’re also excited that four of our teachers are attending the O’Connor String Method Camp this week, where they are learning from Mark and Maggie O’Connor and bringing that inspiration back to our students.
Thank you to Hope in the Hills, Coalfield Development, Kelly Pralle, our volunteers, Mark O’Connor, South Arts, and Elle Travis with YES Arts for your support.
Because of you, old-time music continues to grow and thrive in our community.
