Trillium Employment Services

Trillium Employment Services Promoting inclusive community and employment opportunities. We were one of the pioneer supported employment agencies in the United States.

Trillium Employment Services is an organization committed to developing employment opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities. Our staff of skilled professionals work closely with businesses and applicants to ensure a quality match and long term success. In addition to our focus on supported employment, we are equally committed to developing supports for individuals with develop

mental disabilities to participate in the community.

-Our History-

Trillium has been serving people with disabilities in Washington since 1983. We originated as a demonstration project by the University of Oregon to assist a local manufacturer of defibrillators, Physio-Control, in the employment of assemblers with developmental disabilities. This successful project demonstrated to the nation that people with significant disabilities could participate fully in businesses producing quality products of a critical nature. This demonstration helped to influence national legislation on supported employment and pave the way for other people with developmental disabilities to obtain jobs in the community, influence government to move toward community employment and away from sheltered employment, and inspire other businesses to employ people with significant disabilities.

-Vision-

We, the staff of Trillium, are committed to realizing a community that celebrates inclusion and diversity through innovative leadership and partnerships.

*Edit! Hannah has been at Poulsbo Inn for *12 years!

This is what happiness on the job looks like!

Hannah recently celebrated *12 years at Poulsbo Inn and we are excited to celebrate this milestone with her.

Hannah works as part of the front desk team at Poulsbo Inn, where she has built meaningful connections with her coworkers and employer. She truly enjoys coming to work each day and feels a strong sense of belonging with her team.

A brief comment from one of Hannah’s co-workers:
“We love having Hannah and are excited for many more years to come.”

Workplace inclusion is about more than employment — it’s about connection, belonging, and creating opportunities for people to thrive. Hannah’s story is a wonderful example of what can happen when businesses create welcoming and supportive workplaces.

Congratulations on *12 years, Hannah! We can't wait to see what comes next.💚

Shoutout to Chad for being named "Al"-Star of the Month for BOTH May and June! What an impact he is making.

Chad started working at Big Al's Vancouver last October, and he has been doing a stellar job ever since. Working in the arcade, Chad helps deep clean machines and provides outstanding customer service to guests enjoying the games.

Since starting his job, Chad’s confidence has grown tremendously, and the positive impact he has made has not gone unnoticed. When asked about Chad receiving this recognition two months in a row, his boss Jon shared:

“It wasn’t just me that picked Chad, it was our whole management team.”

That kind of recognition speaks volumes about the hard work, positivity, and dedication Chad brings every day. We are so proud of everything he has accomplished and grateful to partners like Big Al’s who recognize the value of an inclusive workplace.

But Chad’s impact goes beyond the arcade floor. He is also part of the Big Al’s Street Team, where he helps support volunteers and attends community events representing Big Al’s in the community. The team recently volunteered at the Clark County Food Bank farm, digging, weeding, and giving back to our community.

Congratulations, Chad! Your Big Al's team and your community appreciates you, and Trillium does too. 💚

Trillium staff created this flyer to allow Sarah's Garden to share information with the garden's donors about partnering with Trillium to expand volunteer opportunities.

This partnership has provided meaningful opportunities for individuals with a wide range of support needs to participate in engaging, hands-on activities. From gardening and weeding to creating sensory trays using materials from the garden, clients have been able to learn new skills while building confidence and community connections.

Partnerships like this help create more inclusive spaces where everyone has the opportunity to contribute and belong. Trillium is grateful for the continued collaboration with Sarah’s Garden and looks forward to future classes and educational opportunities together. 💚

Sometimes the magic of inclusion appears in the smallest moments.

Danny’s job coach recently shared a story from Miller Sheetmetal, Inc. that felt straight out of Hogwarts itself!

Earlier this week, one of Danny’s coworkers declared that his sorting station sign was missing one very important thing: the Sorting Hat. When she asked Danny which Hogwarts house he belonged to, he wasn’t quite sure.

But as every witch and wizard knows, the Sorting Hat always finds a way.

When Danny arrived for his next shift, his coworker had created an entire Hogwarts sorting game just for him. Beneath different cones were candies representing each Hogwarts house. Danny chose his favorite treat… and just like magic, his Hogwarts house was revealed.

Moments like this may seem small, but they hold real magic: coworkers creating connection, inclusion, and belonging in the workplace.

Because inclusive employment is about more than a job title or a paycheck. It’s about friendship, community, and being part of a team where everyone feels seen and valued.

A heartfelt thank you to the team at Miller Sheetmetal for helping create a workplace where Danny can truly belong. 💚

Harbor Hope Cat Rescue is a Trillium Champion of Inclusion!

Volunteer Karleigh happily presented a certificate to rescue owner Laura for creating a welcoming and inclusive space where people of all abilities can thrive.

These pictures clearly show a trusting relationship where Karleigh not only receives support in volunteering, but is giving her the opportunity to give back to her community. Purpose and contribution is vitally important to all of us, and we want to say we see you, we recognize you, and we THANK YOU to Harbor Hope for opening their doors to opportunities.💚

Celebrating Becca’s 3-year anniversary at Treetop Village Early Learning Center!

Becca recently reached this milestone surrounded by appreciation from her team—highlighting not just her work, but the impact she has on those around her.
