Saturday, September 19th is the Great Sierra River Cleanup! We'll be gathering Upper Lake Clementine to clean the beach and connected trails and refresh the area after a busy summer season. It's a couple hours of easy work that makes a big impact, so don't be square, we'll see you there!

Lunch is on us, and if it's a nice day, we can go for a swim! Sign up at the link in the comments.

Some recent gems from our trail cameras:
๐Ÿˆโ€โฌ›A ringtail was spotted at Taylor Preserve! A rare and special sighting!
๐ŸฆจCanyon View was lively as always with a cute lil skunk showing its stripes
๐ŸฆŒAnd a fawn whose mother had to pull them away from the chess set

Remember, we share these wonderful places with the wildlife. Our trails are their living rooms, so show some love to the critters - leave no trace and respect their space!

Thanks to The Goat Trail Fund for their sponsorship of Conservation Celebration Week, coming up September 21-27!

Happy preserversary to Lake Valley Preserve! Located near Emigrant Gap, this 836-acre preserve protects forest land, wildlife habitat, drinking water quality, and recreation opportunities along the North Fork of North Fork American River. Lake Valley Reservoir and Kelly Lake are located within the preserve. Both reservoirs provide day use areas for camping, fishing, paddling, swimming, and picnicking, so everyone can enjoy this beautiful place!

PG&E holds ownership of the preserve; Placer Land Trust holds the conservation easement, permanently prohibiting subdivision and limiting development. It's also next to CAL FIRE state demonstration forest lands recently protected by Placer Land Trust and Bear Yuba Land Trust via conservation easement, as well as to other PG&E lands protected by conservation easements. This extensive area of adjacent protected open space provides a robust east-west corridor for wildlife migration seasonally, annually, and over time as species adapt to climate change.

Bonus photo of PLT staff enjoying the day use area at a recent staff outing!
