🌲✨ Wander into the Pines with us this Sunday! ✨🌲

Lines on the Pines is almost here, and we’re gathering every bit of Pine Barrens enchantment for our day at the Stockton University Campus Center!

From 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, come find us and enjoy:

🐿️ Tom’s legendary wooden oven squirrels plus wooden train cars just for kids, carved with charm and a dash of woodland mischief. And because every tiny locomotive deserves a touch of magic, we’ll have a bundle of bright, playful stickers so little engineers can decorate their trains with all the imagination the forest can hold.
🌸 Handmade flower crowns for kids - delicate, dreamy, and perfect for transforming any child into a wandering forest fairy.

This year’s theme is SAFETY in the NJ Pine Barrens, and we’re excited to be part of a day filled with music, crafts, history, books and all things wonderfully NJ Pine Barrens. Kids are invited to step into the role of a “Woodjin” a young guide who builds outdoor skills, learns to respect and protect nature, and discovers the rich history of the Pine Barrens.

Every donation helps us get one step closer to building our historic train station, and your support keeps our mission rolling forward.

Just a few of the gifts we sent out this year for U.S. Postal Service Operation Santa! 🎁✨

Every package has officially been delivered and knowing they’ve reached the families who needed a little extra magic this season is something our whole team is grateful to be part of.

What started as a simple idea turned into a beautiful reminder of what community, kindness, and generosity can do. These weren’t just gifts, they were moments of joy, hope, and surprise for families who wrote their wishes with so much sincerity.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible, whether you donated, wrapped, shopped, or simply cheered us on. Together, we made Christmas a little brighter for families who truly deserved it.

Here’s to keeping the spirit of giving alive all year long. ❤️🎄✨

A huge thank you to Car Electric Inc. and Willow Moon Candles for your incredibly generous donations and the beautiful gift bag! 🎁✨

Your support helped us bring even more joy to the families we sponsored through Operation Santa, and your kindness truly made a difference. Community partners like you are the reason these moments of magic are possible.

If you’re local, please consider supporting these wonderful businesses, your kindness comes back around in the best ways. ❤️

Our Ghost Train Craft event was a success! 🎃🚂🦇

The kids had a wonderful time painting and decorating their ghost trains. The craft project was followed by a spooky story time, featuring The Ghost Train, narrated by our trustee, Bob Taylor. 🕸️

🇺🇸✨ Happy 4th of July from the Historical Society! ✨🇺🇸

As we fire up the grills and gather with friends and family, we’re feeling a little nostalgic today. Remember the old Atco parades? Sparklers in the driveway and patriotic tunes echoing through the neighborhood?

Waterford Township has always known how to celebrate—and we’re proud to be part of a community that honors its past while making new memories every year.

Drop a photo or memory from your favorite 4th of July in town—we’d love to see how you celebrate!

A Living Tribute to Tony & Toni Clark🌳✝️

On Sunday, June 29th, the Atco United Presbyterian Church held a Memorial Tree Dedication in honor of The Honorable Anthony “Tony” L. Clark and his beloved wife, Toni Clark. Over 100 friends, family members, and community members gathered to celebrate their extraordinary legacy of service, faith, and love.

A beautiful Crepe Myrtle was planted on the church grounds as a lasting symbol of their devotion—not only to the church, but to the entire Waterford Township community. Their daughters, Kerri Prunella and Kristi Horner, attended with their families, surrounded by the warmth and gratitude of those whose lives were touched by Tony and Toni.

As many of you know, Tony and Toni were instrumental in founding the Waterford Township Historical Society. Their shared passion for preserving local history and fostering civic pride continues to inspire us all.

May this tree grow strong and full, just as their legacy continues to flourish in the hearts of those they served and loved.

As we look ahead to our upcoming meeting this Tuesday, we wanted to highlight the success of our recent “Show and Tell” sessions. These gatherings sparked some truly engaging conversations—featuring unique items, such as old maps, tools, vases, and vintage phones.

January and February’s meetings were especially memorable, as they were the last ones attended by our friends and leaders, Tony and Toni Clark. Their presence and passion for history will always be remembered.

If you love history and want to take part in honoring the history of our community, then we would love to see you at one of our meetings! Help us celebrate 331 years of Waterford Township’s rich past and be part of shaping its future.

This Tuesday’s meeting will also include elections for our Trustee members. “Show and Tell” will still take place, but in a shorter 30-minute format to accommodate the vote.

Thanks to the great feedback we’ve received, we’re also exploring new ideas and collaborations to make future meetings even more engaging.

All are welcome—come be part of the story!

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our esteemed president, Tony Clark.

Tony was a visionary leader who held a profound respect and admiration for the rich 331-year history of our township. He dedicated himself to engaging our community by educating future generations about the significance of our township’s foundational history, with Waterford being recognized as one of the oldest townships in America, predating our Constitution.

Tony envisioned a future for our organization and for our community, including a museum, which would showcase numerous antiquities that have been collected over the years, offering the community a chance to appreciate and learn from our heritage for generations to come. We are committed to honoring Tony’s vision and will actively collaborate with other organizations to ensure that our legacy remains a priority, just as Tony would have wished.

For those wishing to pay their respects, services for Tony will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at the Atco United Presbyterian Church, located at 2259 Atco Avenue, Atco, NJ 08004. The viewing will commence at 9:00 AM, followed by funeral services from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

The members of the Historical Society of Waterford Township are saddened to announce the passing of Toni Clark. Toni served as our curator and was a beloved wife to our President, Tony Clark. She played a crucial role in our organization, contributing to everything from curating important historical items to assisting with daily operations and managing social media development.

We will deeply miss her presence during our weekly social media gatherings and monthly organizational meetings. Her sharp wit and caring nature will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know and work with her.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Tony and his family during this difficult time. For those wishing to attend her funeral, please see the link for more details.
