Powdery mildew may want to rethink its evening plans. 🪩✨

What looks like a light show is actually a tool for fighting grapevine disease.

In a 2026 Sustainable Ag Expo online course, David Gadoury, Cornell University, explores how UV light can be used to manage powdery mildew and other grapevine pathogens.

Applied at night, UV light disrupts the fungus’s DNA and prevents it from reproducing, offering growers another approach to disease management.

Vine mealybug management takes more than one strategy...and often, more than one vineyard. 🍇

At the 2026 Sustainable Ag Expo, two back-to-back sessions will explore how biological control, coordinated regional efforts, and holistic management can help growers tackle vine mealybug and leafroll.

Dr. Monica Cooper of UC ANR will explore the role of predators and parasitoids, along with regional programs that support early detection, intervention, and pest suppression.

Meet Diego! One of our 2026 Juan Nevarez Memorial Scholarship Recipients.

Diego was the valedictorian of his class and a multi-sport athlete known for the example he sets both on and off the field. Internships with Energy Vault and Palisades Vineyards sparked his interest in engineering and renewable energy.

After a serious soccer injury during his senior year required reconstructive surgery, recovery forced him to slow down, lean on the people around him, and rethink what strength really looks like.

This fall, he will study mechanical engineering with the goal of developing clean technologies for the future. 

MEMBERS: Join us at the upcoming Member & Scholar Celebration, Wednesday, July 8, 5:30-7:30pm.
