This solo cub from the pack participated in the Astoria Regatta Parade along with Troop 642 from Seaside. Good job scout.

It was a challenge because we were not plain marching and holding the flag by pole. Oh no. We were literally holding a single huge American 🇺🇸 flag for the Lions. One of the members created a device with clips, pvc pipe and rope to make this task easier for us to do.

Scoutmaster Gandy from the troop positioned cub to right center to ensure the middle of flag doesn’t touch the ground.

There were a few street corners to turn with the flag. There were a few areas of gusty wind coming through. And also times where we had to take full huge steps to catch up to the parade.

Arms got sore from holding in one position and it was a mighty walking distance from the hospital area into downtown and back.

Finally we are all back again. There was plenty of scouts out of town, at camps, at birthday parties, etc. the last month till now.

We had a few new friends that came by to check us out. Welcome!

Making some Cheerios necklaces or bracelets. Playing tag outside to get our wiggles out. Then to finish off with a Home Depot Kit. How nice that they coordinated the theme to match current events of the FIFA World Cup going on the past month.

End the even with a Troll’s flavored popsicle.

Blue and Gold Party.

(Side note, one of my wood badge tickets completed.)

Good job cubs on their achievements. Not all were present but it was nice to see everyone despite being held on and off day. Noticed not on a typical meeting night.

Part 2

The large headstone that looks like a concrete pad is I believe a family plot and had a veteran that served the Spanish war. Then the headstone 🪦 singled out and pictured front side was the final veteran that the scouts paid respect 🫡 to.

Of course a group picture to commemorate. It was definitely a little chilly and of course sprinkling most of the morning.

Solo Pack 330 Cub placing flags for Memorial Day with Troop 642, Troop 5330, and Pack 540 at Evergreen Cemetery.

Scoutmaster Mr Gandy instructs scouts on what is to be done with flags and reading of headstone. Group present split into 2 to cover the new and old parts of the cemetery.

If you noticed, in older area there are some veterans with no headstone 🪦 present but is listed on the map. Respect and saying their names were still done for representation.

Sunday morning April 26, 2026

Breaking down camp. Everyone brought their gear up from the campsite to the entrance of site. Then off to the dining hall for morning flag, scouts own and breakfast.

Breakfast was biscuits and gravy and egg casserole/bake with ham and jojo’s inside. We joined up with another pack (Gearhart/Seaside) for line up and breakfast. The we went our separate ways. What a fun and tiring adventure.
