Our recent Q&A highlighted just how many important conversations are happening within the breast cancer community — from monitoring technologies and quality-of-life concerns to ongoing advancements in HER2+ and inflammatory breast cancer research.

We discussed:
-the evolving role of biomarker and monitoring tools
-the importance of individualized treatment conversations
-continued research efforts focused on improving outcomes through immunotherapy and targeted approaches

Every question asked helps drive deeper understanding, stronger collaboration, and continued momentum in research.
Thank you to everyone helping keep these conversations going!

Hard questions were asked: “How do we know what will work?”

Progress in cancer research takes years of studying the immune system, understanding patient response, identifying patterns, and continuing to refine treatment approaches across different cancer types and disease settings.

During our live zoom Q&A, Dr. Czerniecki MD, PhD addresses what his team has learned through years of developing and refining his immunotherapy treatment— helping move the field toward more personalized, targeted, and effective strategies for patients in the future. Thank you for everyone who participated in the call and stay tuned for more!

We opened the conversation around expanding access, improving personalization, and understanding where immunotherapy may fit into the future of breast cancer treatment. Here's what we talked about during our live Q&A with Dr. Brian Czerniecki, MD, PhD. Link to full session is in bio!

-future opportunities for metastatic and Stage 4 patients
-how emerging trials may apply to patients with prior treatments
-advancements in cellular immunotherapy research for more difficult-to-treat subtypes.

While many of these studies are still ongoing, conversations like these continue moving the field forward through research, collaboration, and patient advocacy. Thank you to everyone who joined the discussion and submitted questions!

is celebrating 5 years with No Evidence of Disease this May! ❤️
After being diagnosed with HER2+ breast cancer, Angela made the decision to participate in a pilot clinical trial treating Stage 2–3 patients — contributing to research that has helped propel this work forward and continue expanding the conversation around immunotherapy.
Pennies in Action is proud to celebrate milestones like this while continuing to raise funds for ongoing research and future patient access. A true movement by patients, for patients.

When Angela was diagnosed with stage III breast cancer, she made a decision that could help both herself and future patients.

Time in for part 2 to hear how she’s doing now!

Another honoree at our Showers of Hope event was .

Our patient volunteers were emotional meeting Devon—her story is a powerful reflection of why participation in research matters. Because of those who came before her, this treatment was possible. And because of the generous support behind Pennies in Action, it was made a reality.

Facing a stage 4 diagnosis with limited options, Devon was able to receive this treatment—and today, she has been cancer free since September 2025.

This is what patient-led, patient-centered progress looks like. It’s also a reminder that moments like this are only possible with the support that fuels them.
We’re grateful to be part of stories like Devon’s—and committed to continuing this work.
