You may have noticed that some of our members have been sporting beards and facial hair over the past few weeks!

Each year, Chief Ruggieri permits officers to grow facial hair from September until December in support of a charitable cause chosen by the APRA.

We are proud to announce that this year, a total of $1,700 was raised in support of the Delaware County Victim Assistance Center. The DCVAC, a private non-profit organization, provides comprehensive services to victims of r**e, sexual assault and other serious crimes. Their mission also includes educational outreach to schools, community groups, and emergency responders.

We are proud to both support and work closely alongside an organization that provides such a crucial service to our region.

We are incredibly honored to share that H.E.R.O. was selected by the Aston Township Police Relief Association as the recipient of the donations raised through their Law Enforcement Su***de Prevention Walk-A-Thon.

This meaningful event brought together members of law enforcement from across the community to stand united in support of mental health awareness and su***de prevention within the law enforcement community.

We are deeply grateful to the Aston Township Police Relief Association for choosing H.E.R.O. as the beneficiary of this important cause and for their commitment to supporting the mental health and well-being of our brothers and sisters in blue.

Every conversation matters. Every connection matters. And every effort to remind someone that they are not alone can make a difference.

Thank you to everyone who participated, donated, walked, and helped make this event possible. We are honored to carry this mission forward and continue supporting those who dedicate their lives to protecting others. 💙

A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Law Enforcement & Community Partners

The APRA would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all of the police departments, officers, agencies, families, friends, and community supporters who participated in our 24-Hour Walk-A-Thon to raise awareness about police su***de.

Your willingness to show up, walk, support one another, and help shine a light on this important issue made this event truly meaningful. Every step represented a message that our officers are not alone, their mental health matters, and asking for help is a sign of strength.

We would also like to give a very special thank you to Sun Valley High School and the Penn-Delco School District for their incredible support and for allowing us to use their beautiful grounds for this important event. Your generosity and willingness to open your doors to our law enforcement community helped make this event possible, and we are truly grateful.

We are proud to announce that, through the incredible generosity and support of everyone involved, the APRA was able to raise $2,530.00, which will be donated to the HERO - Helping Emergency Responders Overcome to support their mission and their efforts to help those who serve and protect our communities. Thank you Leo for your incredible work and endless commitment to our first responders!

To every police department, officer, participant, volunteer, supporter, and community partner who helped make this event a success:

We’re excited to welcome everyone this Tuesday for an evening of fun, community, and public safety!

Join us for: Local first responders and emergency vehicles🚓🚑🚒, A helicopter landing (weather permitting)🚁, Food trucks 🚚, Dunk tank 💦, DJ and music 🎶, Amazing community vendors and much more!

🚨Parking & Traffic Information🚨
To help ensure a safe and enjoyable event for everyone:
• The Community Center parking lot will close after 3:00 PM for event setup. Township buildings will remain accessible.
• Beginning at 5:30 PM, the campus will be closed to all non-emergency vehicle traffic.
• We encourage guests to park at Holy Family School St. Joseph's Church, who have graciously made their parking lots available to us, directly across the street.
• Our Fire Police will be on-site to assist pedestrians with safely crossing the road.

Weather Plan 🌧️
If rain or storms move into the area, the event will be moved indoors to the Community Center. Restrooms are also located inside the Community Center for your convenience.

We're just a few weeks away from National Night Out, and we can't wait to see everyone there!
