Yet another gorgeous fall day for our October meeting! 🍁 We had a wonderful turnout of prospective members join us to see what Chequamegon Pony Club is all about.

We packed the day with plenty of learning and fun:

• Unmounted Learning: We kicked things off with a "pony parts relay" game! A huge shoutout to our highest-rated members for stepping up as mentors to guide everyone through hands-on stations covering quick-release knots, stall cleaning, and the anatomy of English & Western saddles, as well as bridles. 🐴✨

• Mounted Fun: We wrapped up in the saddle with some fun games that got both horses and riders moving!

Huge thanks to Julie for a great day and for hosting us, and to Kali for helping us out!

What a beautiful fall day for our October meeting! 🍂

For our unmounted education, we dove into lameness and abscesses, complete with a real-world example. A huge shoutout to the ever-so-handsome Kelvin—we’re sending him all the speedy healing vibes! He’s clearly getting top-notch care, and we’re so grateful to learn from Julie.

We also refreshed our vital skills, checking TPR (temperature, pulse, and respiration) on Ali both at rest and after work.

To wrap things up, our mounted riders tackled an octagon ground pole course that definitely got everyone—horses and riders alike—thinking! 🧠🐴

Thank you for sharing your time and expertise with us, Julie!

We are still smiling after an incredible C-Retreat weekend! ❤️

A heartfelt thank you to the Northern Lakes Region Youth Board for organizing, and to Trottville Stables for being such welcoming hosts. Opening their beautiful facility to our group made all the difference, and we're so grateful for their hospitality!

Watching members from throughout the region bond while tackling obstacles, polocrosse, cow work, and trail rides was truly special. From trying brand-new disciplines to building lasting friendships—both two-legged and four-legged—it was a weekend for the books.

Events like this remind us what our community is all about: growth, encouragement, and lifelong friendships. Thank you to everyone who made it possible! 🐴

Huge shoutout to Avery Nelson (and her mom!) for making the trek and hauling all that equipment out to run our August vaulting clinic—what an absolute blast! 🤸🐴

We were so lucky to learn from Avery! She brings incredible experience to the arena, having competed nationally at the One-Star level, trained at Two-Star, and coached with both Northern Star and Northern Lakes Vaulting. We're so grateful she jumped back in to share her top-tier skills and passion with our riders!

Our members spent three full hours putting in the work, and the progress everyone made in just one afternoon was amazing to watch. Honestly, there’s never more laughter at our meetings than when we’re out there giving vaulting a shot.

Huge thanks again to Avery for sharing her expertise, and to every rider who showed up, tried something new, and cheered each other on!

Huge thanks to Susan with Mouthy Mare Bitworks for an amazing bit and bridle clinic last night! 🐴 We gained so much valuable knowledge and are already putting it to use in the tack room.

We are champing at the bit to host you again! (Or chomping, depending on who you ask! 😉)

Beyond the great clinic, it was wonderful connecting with other horse lovers from around the area!

Shoutout to our friends at Blue Hills Equestrian Pony Club for making the weeknight trek—events are always better with your crew! 💙

Our July meeting was a warm one! ☀️ Despite the heat, we had a fantastic day of learning and practical application.

• Unmounted portion: Covered all things
boots, bandages, and wraps.

• Mounted section: Worked on bending and
flexion through serpentines and loops.

It was a wonderful day for our junior members, and a great opportunity for one of our senior members to step up and help teach. Big thanks to Julie, Ella, & the best dainty leg model, Ali! 🐴

This weekend was a whirlwind! Our members volunteered in a variety of roles at the North Woods Dressage Association Cooler by the Lake I & II recognized shows!:

• Ring set up & take down
• Ring stewarding
• Carrot, water, bit & whip checks

We also had a very successful stall-cleaning fundraiser 🪏 💩 💪🏻 (thank you, riders, for your support!), and Julie & Jess talked us through the ins and outs of showing.
